Mister Kindness Podcast 55.
This one is not for the faint-hearted. Joining us from near Stonehenge is my old friend and master of understatement, Colonel David Richmond. He's one of the most capable operators and inspiring leaders I served with. David graphically retells how he was shot through the thigh in Afghanistan which led to a very long and painful four year recovery. He reluctantly had to leave the army to begin a career in Veterans' charities - first with Help for Heroes - then setting up the Office of Veteran Affairs. He worked at the heart of the British government in the Cabinet Office to make Veterans a priority. You read a lot about resilience and leadership in the corporate world, but his story is a real life case study of those two qualities in action. David is out there fighting for Veterans' welfare and I'm very glad he's leading the charge. Enjoy...
