Miracles & Atheists

The Miracles and Atheists podcast is where truth-seekers and storytellers unpack the TENSION between different world views of the supernatural. The project started as a 4-hour Live Stream on Facebook and is now transitioning to a bold, new podcast where skeptics and believers talk respectfully about faith and the supernatural. Miracles and Atheists is a forum for truth-seekers to discuss tough questions and objections to "supernatural" events and the Christian faith. We also love talking about miracles. So many assertions are made these days, and very few are open to listening to each other in love. Hopefully you are...if so, you'll enjoy the Miracles and Atheists Community (the MAC).

What’s the deal with witches and blood? Why do all these satanic rituals involve blood? Ex-witch and ex-freemason warns us of the physical and spiritual dangers of Halloween, and in the case of our special Part 2 bonus episode (click here if you missed Part 1), we unpack blood sacrifices, witches who (try to) curse Christians, and many other abhorred topics.

Our guest, Dr. Bill Schnoebelen is a Biblical scholar, author and prayer warrior. He founded With One Accord Ministries in 1992. Dr. Bill has ministered to countless numbers of people across the world through teaching seminars, preaching, books, DVDs, YouTube videos, and countless booklets, articles and tracts. He earned a Masters in Theological Studies degree in 1980 and a Master of Arts degree in counseling in 1990.

Adding to his resume, Dr. Bill is also:

  • A Former high level teacher of witchcraft, spiritism and ceremonial magick
  • A Former active member of the Freemasonic fraternity (both York and Scottish rite)
  • And a Former devout member of the LDS (Mormon) church!

The occult practices you’ll learn from this episode are both fascinating and horrifying. Take if from an ex-witch, ex-Mormon, ex-mason, and ex-Satanist...Halloween is nothing to play around with.

Imagine striving to believe something for over 30 years, but your “light switch” just isn’t turning on. The doubt, the fear, all building up for decades...until it finally culminates to a final, decisive act! How did it happen? What would you do? Why does it have to be this way?

It’s time to unpack some details! We’re taking it back to Nick Snapp’s old stomping grounds: the original 4-HOUR Miracles & Atheists LIVESTREAM!

We’re re-releasing an important conversation that Nick had with worldwide evangelist, Brian Essary, and positive atheism advocate, Janet Reyes.

Janet Reyes is a former Southern Baptist Women’s Minister who just recently came out as an atheist after 30 years of being involved with the Church. She’s a research grant writer for a preeminent research university and has been grant writing for 18 years, and Janet has spent time volunteering for the Atheist Community of Austin serving on their Social Media Committee.

Representing the Christian perspective is Evangelist, Brain Essary. Through his mass miracle crusades and networking with church planting programs he has seen over one million people come to Christ and hundreds of national churches planted throughout these villages of India. Brian is motivated by the belief that you can impact a region through a crusade but you will only change a nation through the national ministers.

It was a lot of fun revisiting this particular livestream. One of our inspirations for going back through this conversation again because of the interesting challenge Janet posed to Brian at the end of the conversation...bring it!

Laurie Ditto was taken supernaturally to both Heaven and Hell. She has such an interesting perspective on following Jesus that we brought her back for a special bonus episode of The Miracles & Atheists Podcast. She is the author of The Hell Conspiracy and Encountering Heaven, Laurie has had multiple visions of Heaven, and she’s had a horrifying eye-witness account of Hell. In this conversation we take it back to what the Bible calls, “The Fear of the LORD.” It’s a confusing topic that many people have questions about. It’s our goal to hopefully answer as many of those questions as we can. It’s a special bonus episode we’re doing for you and we did not invite any atheists on for this conversation, but we’ll have them back on next week.

Does the Bible really mean what it says, or is something else going on? Does “kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child” literally mean to kill them, or does it mean something else? How can one reconcile the literal interpretation of the Word of God with a conceptual interpretation? Is this a dangerous practice?

We had an excellent dialog among very different world views, even highlighting significant differences between followers of Jesus. We talk about all these things and more between an atheist and three Christians.

Robert (Bob) O’Connell, is an award winning playwright and the author of Flash Mob, Cruise Mob, Campus Mob, The Day I Dressed Better Than My Wife and The Death of Comedy. Bob is a regular contributor to The Triangle Review. He has had dozens of plays performed throughout the world. He is an educator and humorist, and most closely relates to the atheist worldview.

Bob lives with his wife here in Cary, NC. He wanted to be on the podcast because he says that good people have much more in common than not, and he would like to focus on those commonalities to promote positivity rather than argue or tear down.

Representing the Christian worldview today is Aaron Chappell. Aaron grew up in Apex, NC, and attended a Southern Baptist Church. At one point he aspired to become a pastor, and he double majored in Business Management and Religious Studies at North Carolina State University. He’s always loved history, so the academic study of Christianity has been something he really gravitated towards. Aaron wanted to be on the podcast to dialogue with people about religion. He says it’s important that people be able to share varying points of view and respect each other, while not necessarily agreeing.

For some it may sound spooky, wispy or maybe even ignorant, but countless people talk about it. What exactly does it mean to see in the Spirit, and is there something to it?

Today you get to hear more from our friend, Pastor Perry Maison. Perry talked recently with atheist Boris Ekner on our last event, answering tough questions about God and whether He is really good. Perry is a Kingdom Strategist, and co-pastor of Shekinah Glory International in Durham, North Carolina. Perry says he’s doing what he was born to do, and that’s to connect people with his Father, to love Jesus passionately, and to fellowship with his best friend, Mighty Holy Spirit.

On our last interview with Perry, we wanted to talk more about supernatural things with him and Boris, but the conversation went in another direction and we ran out of time...so we’re bringing Perry back to tell us all about what it’s like, and what it means to see in the Spirit.

This one will open your eyes and maybe even your heart...enjoy this presentation of The Miracles and Atheists Podcast.

Atheists and Christian conversations are fascinating...especially when you combined skepticism with stories of the supernatural. This is what we’re giving you today Miracles & Atheists Community! (#theMAC) Our first guest representing the atheist position is Boris Ekner, a native of Sweden who currently lives with his wife in Guatemala and has been since 2010. Boris has no belief in any supernatural occurrences whatsoever, and he was interested in being on The Miracles & Atheists Podcast after listening to Episode 019 with Jason Stray Cat Williams and Robby Graham. Boris wants to find an answer to his question, “If God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, why has He never stopped a child rapist in his tracks? Our second guest, Perry Maison is going to give us his take. Perry is a Christian, a Kingdom Strategist and co-pastor of Shekinah Glory International in Durham, North Carolina. Perry says he’s doing what he was born to do, and that’s connecting people with his Father, to love Jesus passionately, and to fellowship with his best friend, Mighty Holy Spirit. Boris asks this and other heavy questions for our heavy conversation, and we talk extensively to navigate through them. We know you’ll find value in learning from these two polar opposite world views. It's conversations like these that will take you out of the “Echo Chamber” that’s doing its best to tear apart the fabric of our society.

What if God is not in control? Let’s not talk about being masters of the Universe, but masters of the Earth. “Dominion” is a controversial topic among certain denominations of the Christian church; some even call it heretical.

So who has the power?

Co-Hosts Nick Snapp and Marcus Plating get deep into this topic because of all the questions and comments they get from atheists about the problem of evil and why, to secular humanists, God doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it.

It’s all related to the concept of dominion, and we think you’ll gain a lot of value from our conversation. We also want to break you free from the ECHO CHAMBER, where, due to complex algorithms that track our every move on the Internet, we only end up consuming content from people who think like we do...

It’s driven by social-media surveillance marketing and our ever-increasing culture of being easily offended, that’s taking hold of our country.

PODCASTING IN PUBLIC with Miracles & Atheists! We setup a tent, invested in some sweet outdoor audio equipment and drew an amazing crowd...not to mention, we had a solid guest lineup and a great turnout at Pullen Park in Raleigh.

It was a night to remember, and marked a new milestone for how The Miracles & Atheists Podcast will be podcasting in the future. We’re super-excited, albeit, SUPERNATURALLY excited to introduce you to Laurie Ditto, author of The Hell Conspiracy and Encountering Heaven, representing the Christian worldview, and our new friend Patrick Walsh, leader of the Atheists, Agnostics and Apostates group formed locally here in Raleigh, NC. Laurie has had multiple visions of Heaven, and she’s had a horrifying eye-witness account of Hell. Patrick has a lot of skepticism about her experience.

You’ll get to hear both birds, and intellectualism chirping freely as we set up in the park for a brilliant night of civil discourse.

It’s PART 2 of our fascinating, supernatural convo with skeptic and fellow podcaster, Ashley Sanders, and demon-fighting, witch-doctor-battling follower of Jesus, Patrick Wandera. This time we pull out all the stops and talk about real-life mermaids, vampires and shape-shifters! If you want to know why the devil cares so much about you going to hell, you’ll want to hear the rest of our conversation.

Ashley Sanders runs MadFam Music and is a critical religious skeptic and comedian who makes sure pastors and religious leaders are preaching the life they claim. You can follow Ashley on Instagram @starmadnessradio.

Patrick Wandera serves as full-time minister of the gospel with Deliverance Church Makerere Hill in Kampala, Uganda. He’s an open air and conference speaker, having ministered all over Uganda, the East African region and beyond in the power of the Holy Spirit, with signs and wonders following. He’s the author of Seven Years in Hell, Soul Merchants and Satan’s Attack on the Local Church. You can check out his YouTube Channel, Great Deliverance Ministries where he goes into even greater detail about the people he’s ministered to and the incredible things he’s seen throughout the years.

Get ready MAC, it’s time for some stories you probably won’t believe that will keep you asking questions you’ll demand answers to. Enjoy!

Can you believe in evolution? Evolutionists say no...Creationists say absolutely, yes. Evolution seems to be the atheist’s linchpin. Evolutionary discussion under the guise of anything other than fact, is a deal breaker. So what happens when a believer offers such a claim? Well, episode 033 happens: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

We invited Young-Earth Creationist, Tim Chaffey from Answers in Genesis on the podcast to give us his perspective. Tim is the content manager for the Attractions Division of Answers in Genesis. An apologist with a passion for training young people, he speaks regularly at the Creation Museum, camps, schools, and churches, and has authored numerous books.

Tim was interested in Miracles and Atheists because he liked the idea of having a good respectful dialogue on these issues. So did he get it?

You’ll hear soon...

Representing the atheist position is Jason Williams. About six months ago, Jason joined us in what most would consider to be a rather productive conversation about prayer, with Christian Robby Graham on episode 019. The show was respectful, light-hearted and we all left our microphones with smiles on our faces.

Jason works as an English teacher out of Guatemala where he lives as an expat. He says like America, where he grew up, Central America is plagued by religion.

We invited Jason back on the podcast to talk about evolution, because based on his comments from social media he has both a passion for and strong opinions about the subject, and he seemed knowledgeable.

Stay tuned for the most colorful episode we’ve ever conducted on Miracles & Atheists.
