Nakia Douglas, Executive Director of the TRIO and Pre-Collegiate programs at the University of North Texas at Dallas, sits down with me to share how culture, experiences and career have shaped his life, and during these historical and challenging times, how we all can stand up against injustice --- and be Allies to the Black community. This movement in America’s history is giving us two choices, either to be a bystander or an upstander to racial inequality!
Mr. Douglas has also served as the founding Principal at the Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy in Dallas and principal at Dallas Independent School District. His Honors include Dallas Independent School District Magnet School Principal of the Year and the SMU Luminary Award, these are just a few of many recognitions Mr. Douglas has received.
