Ms. Susan Castle made it a point to let her interviewer know she was a house servant and wasn't from the plantation. She seemed to hold to ideas that the enslaved should have been obedient to their masters.
She was fairly young at the end of the Civil War but has a good recollection of that period in time. Hear her story now.
