TODAY'S REAL LIFE COCKTAIL:
Peppermint Martini

This one is for two people or a double whammy for one.

Before you start, wet and dip both martini glasses in crushed candy canes or another type of colorful sugar sprinkle.

5 ounces vanilla vodka
2 ounces white creme de menthe
1/2 ounce peppermint schnapps

Pour liquids into a cocktail shaker with cracked ice and hard shake for approx. 30 seconds.

Pour into prepared martini glasses and dress with a candy cane.

I promise you - it tastes so much better than it sounds.

The Widow's Kiss

1⁄2 ounce Yellow Chartreuse
1⁄2 ounce Benedictine
1 ounce Apple Brandy
1 Dash Bitters

Pour into a shaker with cracked ice. Shake well and strain and pour into your favorite 3 ounce cocktail glass.
Back in Mr. Boston’s Day, this cocktail was dressed with a strawberry. I served it up with a slice of toffee apple and that was fun, but I am open to your suggestions.
