Everyday, we have the opportunity to see those who feel unseen. It's why Jesus invites you to see for yourself...

Compelled by incomplete and bias presentations of Black People and Black Culture, Documentarians Teanna & Peter Okojie set out to capture and tell stories of the Black Community that you don't hear or see. Tee grew up in San Diego, CA while Peter was born and raised in Nigeria, but their work has led them to travel the world to share Black stories more accurately. In this conversation, we discuss the importance of telling Black stories accurately through film, photography, and other media and the role storytelling plays in affecting positive change.

Today's conversation features Robby Valderrama, Founder of the Praise Hands Podcast, to discuss Systemic Injustice and Racism in Society and the Christian Church.
Robby's intentional, cross-cultural work has put him in contact with faith leaders across various orthodoxies and denominations and from every walk of life to discuss ways Christians can affect positive change in the church and in society.
In this conversation, we look at ways the Church has contributed to systemic oppression and injustice, and what we can do today to create new systems of equality for people of color.
Robby recently wrote a paper titled, "A History of Race and Policing in America," which we highly recommend. In addition, you can learn more about Praise Hands and support their cause by clicking here or following along on social media.

Let's Talk Racism: How Can I Help?

Recent events in the US have reminded us of the deep work of reconciliation that remains and the gap that’s yet to be bridged. It is abundantly clear that we must all take responsibility to be part of the solution. We can no longer remain silent or absent.
These conversations are our attempt to offer insight, provoke personal change, and share hope for how we can all move forward.
These conversations are not perfect. They’re raw, they’re unedited, and they’re unfiltered. But we believe having conversations like this is part of our responsibility to create a better and more hope-filled future complete with justice and equality for people of color.
Take your time to listen to each episode, process what you hear, and work for the greater good. And wherever it’s appropriate, please share these conversations so others can do the same.
