A Heart That Works is the story of author Rob Delaney and his son's diagnosis of brain cancer that ultimately leads to his death. In this book you learn about how Rob, his wife and two younger sons come together to support each other during the most difficult time of their lives. You'll also learn about the community that supported them, how their grief was multiplied during the time of caring for their sick son, and that Rob Delaney is a funny motherfucker!
Allison and Carmen bounce a few book club questions off of each other and give their thoughts on what supporting someone grieving looks like. This book will break your heart wide open and it will make you laugh.
