Today, I’m releasing my very favorite episode to date. I have watched Shawn Johnson compete gymnastics since she was a little girl and I’m one of her biggest fans. I’ve had the opportunity to learn about social media from Andrew East and have grown to respect him as a content creator and fantastic husband. In this episode they were so kind to open up with me and be honest and candid about their marriage and family life.

Shawn Johnson and Andrew East have a unique marriage in that they are so in the public eye and both successful and recognized athletes, but they have a marriage just like the rest of us. They disagree, have pet peeves and admire each other just like any other newly married couple. They have to navigate it all, just like anyone else, except for being recognized everywhere they go.

And, they are about to be parents. They share their hopes and dreams for baby East and their desire for this baby to know how much his parents love him and each other. So sweet!!! The cover photo for this episode is the night Shawn was inducted into the sports Hall of Fame. Andrew was so supportive and proud.

You can follow along in the East Family adventures on YouTube at The East Family or follow them individually at Shawn Johnson East and Andrew D East on every other platform. You can also check out Andrew’s podcast: Redirected on iTunes or any other podcast listening app. I promise you are going to love them!

Ever wondered about the secrets your body holds during perimenopause? How this stage of life affects not just your physical health, but also your relationships? Join us as we unravel these mysteries with Bria Gadd - a personal trainer, holistic health coach and integrative nutritionist with a special expertise in female hormones. Bria guides us through the facts and myths surrounding perimenopause and menopause, highlighting the critical transitions occurring during this period in a woman's life. She emphasizes the importance of understanding this stage, as it affects 40 million women worldwide, half of whom don't understand the distinctions between perimenopause and menopause.
We break down myths like menopause being caused by estrogen deficiency while discussing the role of progesterone. We also focus on the body's need for more energy during certain periods, how this affects metabolism, and how low-impact movement can contribute to our overall wellbeing during this time. We then shift our attention to how cortisol and inflammation factor into our physical health, the significance of age and lifestyle habits, and how we can better handle and understand these changes.
Finally, we discuss the four pillars of health: sleep & rest, nutrition & fuel, movement & exercise, and pleasure. These pillars not only form the foundation of our health but also strengthen our relationships. Bria shares valuable insights into why some women struggle more than others during perimenopause and how we can ensure we are not one of them.
Wrapping up the episode, Bria leaves us with resources and advice for women and partners to smoothly navigate this challenging, yet rewarding time in life.

Marriage and Intimacy Tips for Christian Couples: Secrets of Happily Ever After - Episode 14 – Interview with Ginger Zee

Episode 14 – Interview with Ginger Zee

Marriage and Intimacy Tips for Christian Couples: Secrets of Happily Ever After

play

04/30/18 • 27 min

Today’s interview is with ABC’s chief meteorologist and Good Morning America personality, Ginger Zee. Ginger lives in New York City with her husband Ben, and her two boys, Adrian and Miles. She recently wrote a book called Natural Disasters – I Cover Them and I Am One, in which she opens up about her life and her struggle with depression. She is honest and real and gives hope to others who have or are battling similar mental health problems. She also wrote a children’s book called Chasing Helicity, which was just released last week. She is smart, creative, happy, honest and so much fun to interview.

In our interview, Ginger opens up about love of the weather, her marriage, her experience with depression and how a woman really can have it all. She also shares with us how she unwinds after a long, stressful day and how she gets so much done everyday. I especially loved one of her final thoughts about how dark clouds will eventually and always clear. They cannot stick around forever, that is just not how the atmosphere works. I love the hope she brings to anyone who is struggling with anything in their life. Just keep going!

You can find her books on Amazon.com and through any other book retailer. You can follow her on Instagram @ginger_zee or watch her weekday mornings on ABC’s Good Morning America.

A giant “thank you” to Ginger for taking the time to chat with me and even re-record the interview after some technical difficulties. I will always be your number one fan! I just know everyone will love her as much as I do after they listen to her candid interview.

As a part of the Sexual Health Series, today we are chatting with the amazing Kristen Jenson, author of the best-selling Good Pictures Bad Pictures series. She shares with us; how important it is to talk with our children about pornography.

Kristen loves helping and empowering parents. She encourages them and equips them with what to do WHEN (not if) their child sees pornography. These books give children a simple and age appropriate definition of what a bad picture is, and what to do when they see it.

At what age, is it appropriate to talk to your child about pornography?? Well... “At what age does your child have access to the internet”? WOAH! A big eye opener.

Even with the best technology and ALL of the filters we put in place. There will come a time, when your child is staring at a screen full of adult content. Will they know what to do when they see it? Will they come home and tell you about it?

Kristen teaches us the importance of having these difficult conversations early on. It actually strengthens the parent-child bond when you face these challenges together and even more, helps our children have healthy sex lives when they are married.

Some of the resources mentioned in the episode are: Healthy Sex Vs. Porn Sex and Protect Young Minds Resources

If you have additional questions about your child and pornography visit ProtectYoungMinds.org or you can grab yourself a copy of these books over on Amazon! You can also find resources on Facebook, Instagram @protectyoungminds, or Twitter @ProtectYM

Be sure to subscribe to this podcast, so you don't miss an episode and starting in July, every Friday, we'll be talking to couples as part of our Conversations with Interracial Couples Series.

If you loved this episode, please share it with your loved ones, because sharing is caring and be sure to check us out on Instagram at: www.instagram.com/monitanner1 for a chance to win autographed copies of Good Pictures, Bad Pictures.

In this bonus episode, I reached wayyyy back in my vault and pulled out one of my favorite interviews of all time with Russell Brunson, co-creator of Clickfunnels, in order to set the stage and give you context for Monday’s awesome interview with his better half, Collette Brunson.

Over the past 10 years, Russell has built a following of over a million entrepreneurs, sold hundreds of thousands of copies of his books, popularized the concept of sales funnels, and co-founded a software company called ClickFunnels that helps tens of thousands of entrepreneurs quickly get their message out to the marketplace. As of this posting, they have over 100,000 users!

Today, he’s talking about the failures that led to his success and getting personal with me about who and what keeps him humble. He shares with me his #1 key to success, how he learned to get so far out of his comfort zone and his role models and favorite entrepreneurs. This was one of my favorite interviews! I loved getting to know my neighbor better and hear what drives him to succeed and give back.

I figured out what gives him the determination to never give up, even when the chips are down and how his belief has saved him from certain destruction.

There are few things I want you to remember about this interview.

  1. Russell is the person who encouraged me to start podcasting in the first place. He has been a huge support, mentor and cheerleader for me over the past year and a half as I started and grew this podcast.
  2. The audio quality of this episode is terrible. The editing is even worse. But... the content is so so GOOD! It’s worth listening, I promise.
  3. When I first published this interview, I probably had only a small hand full of listeners. Russell agreed to do the interview anyway.
  4. Once you hear my interview with Collette on Monday, you will be able to see and hear the progress I’ve made on my podcast in the last year and a half. I’ve grown my podcast from 0 to over 50,000 downloads and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made in every area of my life, business and podcast.
  5. I hope that my love for podcasting and this incredible family will come through with flying colors.

As long as you are aware of these things. You are going to love my interviews with both Russell and Collette Brunson! Enjoy!
