Malice In Wonderland - 04. That Girl is Poison: Gloria Ramirez
play

08/24/20 • 39 min

On February 19, 1994, Gloria Ramirez entered Riverside General Hospital’s ER. In less than an hour, she managed to harm 23 people, 5 of which had to be hospitalized. How? Nobody knows. To this day, it remains a medical mystery. Gloria didn’t do anything, except lay on a stretcher, trying not to die as the staff attempting to save her life started becoming ill. After three autopsies and numerous toxicology tests on the hospital’s air, we only know one thing for sure: it definitely (probably) wasn’t aliens.

Malice In Wonderland - 03. Today's Mystery Mouseketool Is... Murder: Sue Basso
play

08/17/20 • 39 min

Sue Basso, nee Peek, nee O’Malley, was a woman who tried to have it all. She wanted money, she wanted a personal servant, and she wanted a relationship outside of her sexually open marriage. She also likely wanted a son that didn’t readily admit she used fraud, torture, and murder in an attempt to achieve all of the above, but we unfortunately can’t choose our family. Police were told Sue’s most recent crime was spurred by a broken Mickey Mouse figurine, but further investigation quickly revealed a sinister plot that goes far beyond Disney collectibles.

Dorothy Hoogstraten was a kind, vivacious, and exceedingly gorgeous 18-year-old girl when she met Paul Snider, a 27-year-old pimp with an impeccably manicured mustache who, upon seeing Dorothy, told his friend “that girl could make me a lot of money.” What started with wooing and modeling, transitioned into fame and money, and ended with the senseless murder of Hugh Hefner’s most beloved Playboy Bunny.

Malice In Wonderland - 06. She’s a Maneater: Omaima Nelson
play

09/07/20 • 32 min

Becca may rethink her family’s tradition of eating ribs on Thanksgiving after this case. Omaima Nelson and her new husband, Bill, should have been basking in newlywed bliss, cooking and eating their first holiday meal together. Unfortunately, Bill ended up on the table with the cranberry sauce and stuffing. Omaima claims she killed in self defense and only cooked Bill to hide evidence, but she also said his ribs were comparable to those she’d had at Texas barbecue joints, which doesn’t seem like the kind of thing someone who didn’t cannibalize their husband would say.

Malice In Wonderland - 08. The Jeff Dahmer Hate Club: Jeffrey Dahmer Part I
play

09/22/20 • 38 min

Think your former fave is problematic? Imagine being a part of Revere High School's Jeff Dahmer fan club. Part one of Jeffrey Dahmer follows Jeff’s origins, his first murder, and some of the tactics he used to try to satiate his needs before committing a second murder. This episode doesn’t cover the cannibalism or sex zombies that launched Dahmer into the serial killer hall of infamy, but it does feature some bone-themed science experiments, a stolen mannequin, and our very first guest star!

Malice In Wonderland - 13. What Not to Wear (Courtroom Edition): Jodi Arias Part II
play

08/16/21 • 64 min

In our long-awaited continuation of the Jodi Arias case, Amber covers Jodi’s time in court. And if you thought the defendant was bananas, wait until you hear about the legal teams and expert witnesses involved in the trials. Psychologists go back and forth on whether Jodi is suffering from trauma or BDP, the juries keep agreeing that Jodi is eligible for the death penalty but can’t decide if she deserves it, and Jodi herself spends the years weighing her desire for attention against the possibility that one wrong move could send her to death row. Jodi also designs a T Shirt, Becca gives an armchair diagnosis, and we reveal the details of those “special hugs” your youth pastor warned you about.

Malice In Wonderland - 14. Plenty of (cat)Fish: Mark Twitchell
play

08/23/21 • 57 min

In Becca’s first solo episode, she dives into Mark Twitchell, an aspiring filmmaker and serial killer. Fortunately for the public, he was caught after his first murder. Unfortunately for Star Wars fanatics, his full-length prequel film will never be released. This case was an easy solve for investigators. Despite his love of fictional serial killer Dexter Morgan, Twitchell didn’t follow Dex’s #1 rule: don’t get caught. Instead, he preemptively filmed a movie about his murder plans, then wrote a 42 page diary about the whole thing.

Malice In Wonderland - 10. IRL Horror Movie Marathon: The Warrens
play

10/20/20 • 57 min

After this episode, you might just be ready to TAPIT. In her longest episode yet, Amber covers four of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s famous paranormal investigations that have inspired some of today’s most popular horror movies. The Warrens are arguably history’s most famous paranormal duo. This power couple led thousands of investigations and have become a household name. You’ve probably seen films like The Conjuring and The Haunting in Connecticut, but do you know the stories of the real families that lived through the events? How true is the story of The Amityville Haunting? Should you be concerned if your Raggedy Ann doll is bleeding? Can Becca actually count past 1,000? These are just some of the mysteries we bring to light this week.

Malice In Wonderland - 07. The Definitive Guide to Eating Ass: Issei Sagawa
play

09/15/20 • 42 min

Did you know your right ass cheek contains less blood than your left ass cheek? We didn’t either, until the dumbest cannibal alive taught us how not to cannibalize a specific cut of human meat. Issei Sagawa did unspeakable things to someone who considered him a friend, and then made money off of his crimes. You might be asking how this is legal. The answer? A super rich daddy and jurisdiction laws. Sharpen your fruit knives and prepare to get schooled on the art of cannibalism by someone who thinks the human body is full of corn.

Malice In Wonderland - 12. Crazy Ex Girlfriend: Jodi Arias Part I
play

12/07/20 • 55 min

Jodi Arias was the ex girlfriend (with benefits) from hell. Casual sex with your ex is all fun and games until they break into your home and murder you three times over. Travis Alexander sadly learned this too late. In part one, we cover the discovery of Travis’ body, the autopsy and crime scene findings, and Jodi’s multiple alibis. We don’t manage to settle the great Jodi Arias: Hot or Not debate, but we can agree she would not be, as Jodi herself would put it, “a potential possible maybe person that you might start dating.”
