Make Your Passion Pay You

As I say often, entrepreneurship is personal growth with a paycheck. If you're struggling in your business right now because you're not hitting a certain income goal you'll want to honestly assess some areas to see if you're acting like a legit business owner or someone with an expensive hobby.

In today's episode I'm outlining 10 differences between CEO's and Hobbyists and what you need to be on the look out for as your business grows.

You'll want to check in with these and adjust, ESPECIALLY when you are expecting your business to pay you like one and you're upset because it isn't. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Reminder CEO's (not hobbyists):⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Know their numbers.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Dictate and know their schedule.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Create systems and rhythms that serve them and their ideal life (proactive not reactive).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Prioritize community and checking in to get and give support. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5. Focus on solutions instead of problems.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 6. Don't let distractions and drama get in the way of their dreams and destiny.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 7. Build the habit and skillset of laser focus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 8. Don't attach their worth to outcomes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 9. Honor and celebrate every win, lesson and progress.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 10. Have a growth mindset instead of a fixed one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

One of my followers asked me recently how I would get started If I was brand new to building an online business with very limited time and money.

I thought this was an excellent question and got me thinking about becoming brilliant in the basics, something even seasoned entrepreneurs need to do.

In this week's Make Your Passion Pay You Podcast episode I'm breaking down the six things that I would do immediately and why they're important.

Step One: I would create one offer to one person solving one problem for them.

Step Two: Choose one social media platform that you love and you know your ideal client will be on. Optimize it for monetization. Meaning people can pay you and know how to do so.

Step Three: Go DEEP on this platform making audience growth, community and real connection top priority.

Step Four: I would be crazy consistent with a content strategy that is clear and CONVERTS (meaning it solves a problem) I would be selling always in a way that's confident and authentic.

Step Five: I would figure out a way to leverage and utilize video. I would make this the #1 skillset I would master to start with.

Step Six: I would start building an email list IMMEDIATELY.

After coaching women for over a decade you start to see patterns. Patterns that hold women back from earning what they truly desire and deserve.

10K months don't mean anything about you as a person but they are marker for what you will be able to pay yourself and really start earning a living that allows you to invest.

The four patterns I'll discuss in this week's episode of Make Your Passion Pay You, you may not realize are happening and are holding you back from being the powerful CEO who earns what she feels she deserves and makes the impact she's been called to make!

🤔 Pattern #1: No clear focus. You're all over the place creating new and shiny offer after offer and not going all in on a signature offer that you're known for with you're own framework. You've probably taken course after course and attended webinar after webinar but haven't yet landed on your "perfect" strategy. You still believe strategy is the primary issue.

🤔 Pattern #2: You are grossly undercharging and are expecting quantity of clients to pay your bills. You've quickly realized that this is exhausting and not the lifestyle of freedom you thought. Additionally you don't know the COA (cost of acquiring) a client so it's difficult to know where to put your resources.

🤔 Pattern #3: You're probably not doing the work in your business that you really LOVE to do and instead you're settling by taking on work or clients that are not ideal. You're starting to feel burned out and think you need to "pivot" completely so you spend a lot of time consuming content from and comparing yourself to people in your industry you feel "have it made" (whatever that means).

🤔 Pattern #4: You're putting out a lot of content that is fluffy, vanilla and tbh no one cares about. You're spending a lot of time doing busy work, checking boxes off of lists instead of really showing up and letting your authentic self be seen.

If you know any of these patterns are keeping you from earning the income you desire and you feel frustrated at the lack of momentum and clarity please understand you're not alone.
