Lucid & Grey - Episode 19: What If It All Ended? (In a week)
play

03/28/22 • 68 min

It is a challenge everyday to simply focus on just what happens to us. We don't live in a vacuum. There is difficult climate in our world today, with conflict and change affecting individuals and families in the country and beyond. We started this show with a simple yet daunting question. What if the world and life as we know it, ended five days from now. It led to an interesting discussion on the moral and ethical decisions we would make (or not make) as the clock of our existence ticked slowly down to zero. How would you you live your last week as your best, spiritual self? You would be surprised.

Lucid & Grey - Episode 3: Taking the Red Pill
play

03/25/21 • 59 min

A nearly two-decade old film called The Matrix (1999) can tell us all a lot about what is a simulation and what is truth. In this episode we go down the rabbit whole and share the moment in our lives where we made a choice to look at the world in the way we wanted to see it. Between our past conditioning and the expectations set by the system we live in, is there a way, just like Neo, we have the option to take the red pill? That red pill, no matter what it reveals about our new path in life, are we ready for the path or just too damn scared to choose? Listen and find out.

And if you haven'e realized it, this episode is full of spoilers. Watch The Matrix on HBOMax or wherever you stream your movies. Seriously, one of the greats.

Lucid & Grey - Episode 11: Silver Linings
play

08/26/21 • 52 min

In this episode, Duarte and I get on mic after a bit of summer vacation to talk about the silver linings that present themselves but are tough to see. Staying positive can be a challenge when our egos just want to convince us that things aren't what they are and blindness takes over. Trust me, with a mind-heavy few weeks up to the show, I've needed some help seeing silver linings I had forgotten about. But as always, this show and every show before it instills a level of clarity that we both are grateful for. Hopefully, it will create some clarity for you as well.

Lucid & Grey - Episode 9: Authentic Compassion
play

07/02/21 • 65 min

To be actively compassionate and kind to your friends, loved ones, and even strangers may sound attainable. What if we are naturally not wired that way? We all want to be good people and both Duarte and I believe we are. Yet we still pursue to be more compassionate. In this episode we both discuss and define what compassion means to us and how we view our everyday actions towards compassion. We tap a bit into Human Design and a future guest of the show, Allison Roedell, and how Human Design helped us learn more of our authentic selfs.

Lucid & Grey - Episode 16: Self-Sabotaging Our Own Happiness
play

12/09/21 • 56 min

We speak a lot on the show about finding your own happiness and that sometimes requires you to peel away from your own conditioning and make a change. You set goals and begin to pursue. Unfortunately for your own protection, the unconscious ego rears its ugly head and starts one of the most impactful obstacles that holds us back. Self-Sabotage. In this episode we lean on Dr. Logan Jones's article "3 Reasons Why We Self-Sabotage Our Own Success" and share moments in our past careers, current entrepreneurship and families where self-sabotage and the fear of success and failure has held us back.

Lucid & Grey - Episode 10: The Power of No
play

07/25/21 • 58 min

As kids, the word NO is a tool to keep us safe. As we get older, those NO's become YES's and we take responsibility for the consequences. Life becomes a tug of war, of sorts, saying YES and NO along the way. But with conditioning, the YES's dominate and we lose sight that NO is a powerful tool to protect us as it did before. In this episode, we dive into those times when saying NO was essential in being at peace and in flow so when YES's are chosen, those moments become more authentic and genuine.

To serve or not to serve? Selflessness or selfishness? We find in each day an opportunity to serve others. Especially as entrepreneurs, our businesses are based on the focussed service we provide to our customers. It's our livelihood. In this episode we look at service through a different, more present, lens. There are so many distractions that take us away from the moment we should authentically connect with those we serve. We share our recent experiences when the universe tested us with those distractions, being in the moment to serve, AND our first email from one of our listeners, Dan B., Enjoy the show, and thank you for listening.

Six episodes in and Duarte and Nick both felt it was time to let you all know what's up with all this "passion" talk. We are blessed to have both found a way to make a living pursuing a path that empowers us to express our passions. The road to right now was not the smoothest. Many obstacles arose with one sole purpose. To suppress that very thing that makes us happy to wake up in the morning. Is this episode, we both share what that looks like, where our passions manifested, and how we expressed those passions on the way to entrepreneurship. Cheers and thank you so much for listening.

Lucid & Grey - Episode 5: Our Own Judgement
play

05/06/21 • 73 min

We are all pretty flawed when it comes to the temptation of judgement. Whether it be the judgement of others or the judgement of ourselves, it's a vicious cycle unless we do something purposeful to break it. In this episode we share how judgement entered our lives in childhood and found it's way to latch on into our mid-life today. We talk about we are doing our best to conquer judgement and the consequences it brings when not kept in check. Don't judge us. We are all doing our best.
