Episode 08: Complying with OSHA’s Heat Hazard NEP
09/08/22 • 46 min
Are you prepared for OSHA's Heat Hazard National Emphasis Program (NEP)? With record heat waves across the U.S. this summer, OSHA has stepped up its enforcement of heat hazard violations. Even if inspectors are on site for a different reason, they will be on the lookout for heat illness risks.
OSHA is making heat illness and hazards a top priority with its Heat Hazard National Emphasis Program (NEP), which went into effect April 8. The agency is conducting proactive inspections for heat-related hazards in “high-risk” industries, including a category that covers most ILMA members’ facilities. Join a panel of experts and learn how to ensure your business is in compliance.
Guests:
Ed Callahan, August Mack
Glenn Miller, August Mack
Jeff Leiter, ILMA General Counsel

Episode 07: Cybersecurity for Small Manufacturers
Dan Strachan ([email protected]), senior industry engagement lead with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), talks with ILMA Communications Director Caitlin Jacobs about the threats that small manufacturers face in the cyber realm and how they can protect themselves.
Many ILMA members may know Strachan from his time at AFPM, where he established the Cyber Security Committee, now the leading authority on the subject for the oil and gas industry.
“Cybersecurity is everyone’s business,” Strachan says. “CISA would really like to be there for the smaller manufacturers as well as the larger ones, because we all work together, and when one domino falls, it can all happen.”
