Loving Your Own Soul

Today we are joined by Hellenistic Astrologer Kate Greenfield for an in-depth conversation to better understand the why behind the practice of astrology and its presence in human existence since the beginning of time. Katie provides such a wonderful look into the history of astrology and the difference between the traditional and modern practices, the relativity to not only astronomy but philosophy too, and its influence on our physical worlds. As we get into our consistent theme of cycles throughout the episode, we also chat through the planetary predictions of 2020 and the fundamental ways of Saturn and how it relates to the events and energies we have all been experiencing in this year of unprecedented times.

We touch on some differing beliefs as to the age of Aquarius and the changing of zodiac signs before taking a deep look into the birth chart and the benefits behind understanding this blueprint for the soul. In this conversation Katie describes the benefit to understanding one’s sun, moon, and rising (ascendent) signs and the characteristics that follow with each. As astrology is so multifaceted Katie describes various planetary aspects and rulers, cardinal signs, and the ways that astrology really just confirms what our intuitions are already telling us. In order to provide some context behind her teachings Katie walks through various aspects of my birth chart further solidifying the validity behind the practice of astrology.

What else we talk about:

  • Ways to leverage the tools of astrology to better understand your own soul
  • The emergence of Project Hindsight
  • The Golden Age of astrology
  • Rapid growth of astrology in the last few years
  • The ways 2020 is a “masterclass of Saturn”
  • Archetypes in the context of human existence
  • Intuition and astrology
  • The power of the moon and symbolism of cycles
  • Honoring both light and dark
  • The birth data needed to pull one’s own natal chart

Jared L. White on Being Positive on The Outside, and Even Braver on The Inside

Today we are joined by Personal and Fashion Stylist Jared L. White for an in-depth conversation to better understand his life’s experiences and evolution as a gay black man that propelled his work as a stylist and activist. Jared has always been one to carry such a positive outlook on life, while also dealing with his own internal negativities that would try to creep in. Together we chat through not only life in corporate America, but also the impressive dynamic of being around so many successful corporate women and the support systems they provided. We touch on the lack of diversity in corporate America and racist ideals that still exist in several U.S. cities today.

Going through challenging times in life, Jared learned how to keep an agile mindset along with the importance of a strong foundation. In fact, the mentality he now carries is due in part to a lot of his own learning as a millennial experiencing various economic down turns. We go on to discuss the growth that 2020 bestowed upon us a collective as well Jared’s own experience finding his voice, creative outlets, and leaning into the acts of injustice. In addition to leaning into (instead of turning away) the traumatizing events of this year, Jared has spent several years leaning into his own multifaceted parts, truly embodying his truest self. These experiences have further shaped his work in standing up as an activist for his community and being a voice for the generations to follow.

What else we talk about:

  • Moving through self-identity issues
  • Having an awareness of the effects of different dialogues we receive
  • Benefits of a meditation practice
  • Irreplaceable value of strong role models
  • Scrappiness of the millennial mindset
