We will also be discussing a range of different health issues such as binge eating disorder, bulimia, overeating and weight loss. Tackling them from a completely different perspective - mind, body, psychology. Throughout the podcasting journey you will also get to know 'real life' stories from people who have had struggles around the above topics and have positively come out the other side. They will share their struggles and what they did to overcome these. I want this platform to be used as a way to become more educated and open minded about the importance of taking care of and nurturing yourself from within. In today's podcast episode, I was lucky enough to have a chat with the inspiring Michael Arterberry. Michael has dedicated his life to moving people from an uneasy time in their lives to a place of peace. He helps them to understand that it’s not about the destination, but the battles won along the way and he encourages them to hold on and understand that bad doesn’t look bad when there is good in it.
Michael received the 2010 USA Network’s Characters Unite Award for exceptional commitment to combating prejudice and discrimination while increasing tolerance and acceptance within the community. He is also the recipient of the 2014 100 Men of Color Award for leadership in education, government, mentorship, entrepreneurial success and community service.

And most recently, he was awarded the EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD from Y-COP, the Youth Community Outreach Program in Mt. Vernon at the First Annual Dinner Dance on September 29th, 2016.

Coping with a changing body is hard. It is probably one of the hardest changes to cope with mentally, if you are someone who places a lot of value on what you weigh and how you look. There is so much pressure placed on us by society that makes us believe that our bodies should always be the same size. We should be able to keep them the same size throughout our lives and if we don’t .... we believe that we don’t have enough willpower, aren’t disciplined enough, aren’t devoted to our health, we don’t look put together or the worst one - we are less valuable.
In this episode I will dive into tips for how to cope with body change to hopefully help you along your own journey.

2 - Health tips - Each day I am learning more and more about nutrition and in particular the importance of a plant based diet. I go through some of the science behind dairy and why I steer clear of certain foods.
3 - How to eat when recovering from an eating disorder - Recovering from an eating disorder can be a scary road. So I thought I would share some of the foods that I implemented into my life when I recovered from Bulimia and Binge Eating and the reasons behind doing so.
