Lost and Found Podcast

My guest today is no stranger to Lost and Found. He was part of our trio of launch episodes back in March and he joins us again to talk about race and justice. He is an award winning Christian hip-hop artist, a black man who is a fellow Canuck ( that’s what we in the True North Strong and Free call a true blue Canadian. I have said before and say it again, “this is a season where we of the majority community in our culture to take time to listen to what our friends from minority communities are saying about race and discrimination. So pull up a chair and sit with us as my good friend, hip-hop artist One8Tea I talk about race issues and what we can do to step into a brighter day. You never know... we might even drop in one of One8Tea’s latest releases.

This is the third in a series of podcasts where we address race and discrimination. If you have not already listened to Episodes 8 and 9, I encourage you to download those episodes as well.
Resources
One8Tea emphasized throughout the interview that his music flows from his life experience. His experience might not be the same as yours, and it certainly differs from mine, but listening to him telling his experience through his music is a learning experience we hope you will benefit from. 009 - Joel Flores - Race and Justice 2

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. But how do we get from the starless midnight we seem to be in to bright daybreak where people of all ethnicities, all languages, all colours live together in respect, care and love for one another?

My guest today is a dear friend who represents a visible minority, a man with brown skin who has lived in both United States and Canada. He knows what racial discrimination looks like, but he is not a victim. So pull up a chair and sit with us as my good friend, Joel Flores and I talk about race issues and what we can do to lift the veil of darkness and step into a brighter day.

011 Rebecca K. Tan - He Said He Is a Christian

My guest today is a survivor. She is a vibrant young woman who makes her faith in Jesus the priority of her life. She is the author of a book that I will recommend during this episode. Yet, in her college years she was drawn into an abusive relationship with a young man who said he was a Christian. In today’s episode Rebecca K. Tan tells her story of deception, abuse, deliverance and healing. So pull up a chair and sit with me for a bit as we explore issues around abusive relationships and how we ought to respond to those who are the victims and the perpetrators of abuse.
Resources

Rebecca has written a wonderful book about her journey through and from abuse in a dating relationship. We highly recommend her book to you.
