Yankees claim INF Jordan Groshans, DFA Matt Krook

The New York Yankees pitchers and catchers have reported to Tampa, and there are already injuries to discuss. Would it be Yankees’ Spring Training without at least one injury? Aaron Boone spoke to the media in Tampa and let them know that Scott Effross, who was recovering from Tommy John surgery, had a back problem crop up in the fall, and he elected to have surgery for that injury in early December. Boone says Effross is expected back in the summer. Next, Jose Trevino injured his calf while training during the offseason, and he has a strain. Both players are already working their way back, and Boone said to expect Trevino to miss the first couple of weeks of Spring Training games. Then, Lou Trivino, who was non-tendered by the Yankees just a little while ago, showed up to camp and reportedly signed a one-year deal with the club worth $1.5M with performance incentives and a 2025 club option. Trivino is also working his way back from Tommy John surgery and is expected to come back sometime in the summer. And finally, the Yankees traded RHP prospect Joshua Quezada for LHP reliever Clayton Andrews. Stacey and Steve discuss all this and more on the latest edition of Locked On Yankees.
