DEBATE: Should the Yankees BUY or SELL?

The New York Yankees beat the Mets 3-1 at the Stadium to earn a Subway Series split. But before we discussed the game, we had a debate: should the Yankees sell, or should they buy at the trade deadline? Stacey and Steve had three minutes to plead their cases and explain why the Yankees should sell or why they should buy. Some compelling arguments were made, but who won? Then, we move on to Wednesday’s game. Carlos Rodón had a much better outing than he did in Anaheim, and it didn’t end with a kiss-off to the crowd. He lasted 5 and 2⁄3 innings, only gave up a run and stuck out four. The Yankees’ offense scored just enough to win, but some of their problems were exposed, namely that pesky RISP problem. They were 1-11. The bullpen shut the door 3 and 1⁄3 innings, and the Yankees won. Then Stacey and Steve reveal just how bad their bold predictions were for this series, and they take a break from baseball.
