The news of the trade came across the "wire" right after the Yankees were walked off by the Mets, 3-2. The Yankees drop Game One of the Subway Series
The Yankees dropped the first game of the Subway Series to the Mets, 6-3. Jordan Montgomery was uncharacteristically iffy in an abbreviated performance in which he gave up five runs, but there were some positives last night, like the bullpen only giving up one run in the final 6 1/2 innings of the game. Aaron Judge hit his 38th home run, which is a good thing, and Aaron Boone made some aggressive moves but ultimately didn't work out. We also preview the matchup on Wednesday between Domingo Germán and Max Scherzer, and the Baltimore Orioles are not in last place anymore in the AL East. Guess who is?
