Gilber Edmond Enters The Portal | Bowl Practice Observations + Where Was Antwane "Juice" Wells?!

Locked On Gamecocks - Daily Podcast On South Carolina Gamecocks Football & Basketball

On today's show, Andrew dives into defensive end Gilber Edmond entering the transfer portal, his observations from the South Carolina Gamecocks first bowl practice, including Antwane "Juice" Wells and others being absent and Shane Beamer posting two late Thursday night welcome home tweets!

With Gilber Edmond's entry to the portal, Andrew explains why this move is really symbolic of the changes in college football due to NIL and the transfer portal, based on what Gilber Edmond is likely leaving for.

With his bowl practice observations, Andrew mentions players who were absent from practice in Antwane Wells Jr., Josh Vann, Jalen Brooks, Dylan Wonnum and Lovasea Carroll, and why Wells apparently wasn't there. He then goes over what he noticed with the running back and tight end position groups in individual drills in terms of who was involved in taking reps, where those reps were and how Christian Beal-Smith looked after dealing with this nagging foot injury.

Lastly, Andrew hypothesizes that the two #WelcomeHome tweets from Thursday are transfer targets, elaborates on why he believes that and specifically mentions Arkansas transfer tight end Trey Knox as a potential commitment candidate!

Dowell Loggains IMPRESSES At Introductory Presser While Shane Beamer FIRES BACK At Critics!

On today's show, Andrew gives his thoughts on Dowell Loggains first press conference as South Carolina's new offensive coordinator, Shane Beamer's fiery opening statement regarding the recent backlash from some of the fans and others and how South Carolina's loss to UAB on the hardwood exposed about the Gamecocks.

With Loggains introductory presser, Andrew dives into what coach Dowell showcased to impress him, in terms of his coaching knowledge, the reasoning behind him coming here and what's molded him into the recruiter he is.

Regarding Shane Beamer's rant, Andrew discusses why he believes the idea of the "chicken curse" was a hidden reason behind Beamer's frustration, why fans seem to be so strong with their criticism of Beamer, and the purpose behind what he said about the team's recent success, guys transferring out and what went into his decision to hire Dowell Loggains as his new offensive play caller.

Lastly, Andrew explains what the UAB loss was a microcosm of what South Carolina looks like when they don't have all of their top offensive players carry the load consistently!
