Locked On Bearcats - Daily Podcast on Cincinnati Bearcats Football & Basketball - Evan Prater SHOULD be the Bearcats Starting Quarterback in 2022

Evan Prater SHOULD be the Bearcats Starting Quarterback in 2022

Locked On Bearcats - Daily Podcast on Cincinnati Bearcats Football & Basketball

Alex explains why Evan Prater should be the Cincinnati Bearcats starting quarterback in 2022. And fans can look to the third offensive possession of the 2018 season-opener for proof of why he should be.

The other quarterback in the competition, Ben Bryant, does have a year of experience as a starter. But that doesn't mean he will provide as much stability as Evan Prater will. And with a move to the Big 12 looming, Alex thinks giving Prater a year of experience as a starter will be very valuable.

Alex then asks: What if current Bengals head coach Zac Taylor had not been the Cincinnati Bearcats offensive coordinator in 2016? Would Clifton and the city of Cincinnati be the sports town it is today?

Bold Prediction Tuesday: Five Bold Predictions on the Cornerbacks Position

Alex gives five bold predictions for the cornerbacks on the 2022 Cincinnati Bearcats football roster.

New position coach Kerry Coombs helped the Cincinnati Bearcats lead the country with 26 interceptions back in 2007. Could that mean an increase in interceptions for this year's team?

The cornerback room has been instrumental the last four years in the Cincinnati Bearcats ranking in the top 10 in points allowed per game. Will that trend continue this year?

Is there a cornerback we aren't talking about on this roster? How much playing time will they get? Will the Cincinnati Bearcats win enough games in blowout fashion for all nine cornerbacks to see game action this season?

Cincinnati Bearcats 30 For 30: The Rise to the CFP

Alex chronicles how the Cincinnati Bearcats rise to the College Football Playoff would make a great 30 For 30 documentary.

Every documentary has a conflict, a backstory. For the Cincinnati Bearcats, it would be the slow bottoming out following former head coach Brian Kelly's departure.

But then enter head coach Luke Fickell, and the rising up from the ashes in beginning in 2018. Profiles of Desmond Ridder and Sauce Gardner plus features on Brady Collins, Marcus Freeman, Michael Warren, Josh Whyle, Coby Bryant and other players.

The Cincinnati Bearcats reaching the College Football Playoff last year is the climax of their rise, which means the full documentary has not yet been written. Alex explains how next season and their first seasons in the Big 12 will determine how this documentary will end.
