Marty York, was born in Toronto and studied political science and history at York University.[5] He began his journalistic career as a young reporter and summer staffer for The Globe and Mail, covering both sports and news during his high school and university days.[5][6]

York first wrote for The Globe as a teenager in 1974, after a reporter who visited his class recruited him to write about amateur sports.[7][1] Not long afterwards, popular Globe sports columnist Dick Beddoes took York under his wing and became his mentor.[1]

After his graduation, then-Globe managing editor Clark Davey hired York full-time for sports coverage and asked him to inject objective and tough reporting into his work.[7][8]

From Politics to powerlifting to professional wrestling. Natasha Kvedaras, originally from Prince Edward Island and moved to Ontario nine years ago. I'm married to Dr Aras Kvedaras DC and we are the former owners and founders of Active Relief Centre . We both currently work for the new owners and stay very active in the sports therapy world. We specialize in high end strength athletes , powerlifters, strong men competitors and wrestlers. As well as the general public. My original background is with mental health. In PEI, I was the director of a mental health program and was highly involved in my community. I even ran for mayor of my town twice! The first time I lost by two votes and the second time I lost by four votes. And yes. There was a recount. lol I'm also the proud mom of three grown kids and one grandbaby. I started powerlifting, after 15 years of regular gym training, when I was in my 30s and rose up the ranks, winning nationals in 2015 and 2019. I qualified for Team Canada and won the NAPF bench press competition, placed second at Commonwealth, placed second in the World at the IPF World powerlifting championship in Sweden and won Commonwealth. THEN COVID hit and I lost my drive for competitive powerlifting. So when I was offered the opportunity to be in a wrestling show, I jumped on the idea. Now I've been attending wrestling school at Off The Ropes Studio in Kitchener for almost three years. I've now wrestled for four different companies, I've also been working for a company in PEI. Dream come true to be wrestling in my home province and home town.
