Live Like a Leader - Elevate Your Mood with Larry Senn
play

09/29/21 • 49 min

Dr Larry Senn is the founder of Senn Delaney, the culture shaping unit of Heidrick & Struggles. He has been referred to in business journals as the Father of Corporate Culture, based on his field research: the first systematic study ever conducted on the concept of corporate culture. His studies were published as his doctoral dissertation in 1970. This led him to an early personal vision of finding a way to enhance the lives of people, the effectiveness of teams, and the spirit and performance of organizations. That vision became Senn Delaney, the first firm dedicated to shaping the culture of organizations.

Senn Delaney has worked with over 100 Fortune 500 CEOs and their teams, university presidents, state governors, and members of U.S. presidential cabinets. He is also co-author of several books, including the best-selling Winning Teams, Winning Cultures and 21st Century Leadership. Larry has a B.S. in Engineering, an M.B.A. from UCLA, and a doctorate degree in Business Administration from USC, where he later served as faculty. He was a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year in Southern California.

Larry’s passion for health and fitness started with his interest in sports during high school and college. He was team captain and the Pac 10 champion in gymnastics at UCLA, and coached UCLA gymnastics after graduation. Today Larry runs, swims, bikes, lifts weights, water skis, rides off-road motorcycles, and stand-up paddles. He competed in his first sprint triathlon at the age of 70, and has completed over 50 triathlons in the more than ten years since, including first place wins in Long Beach, Newport Beach, Redondo Beach, and Hermosa Beach in his age group last year.

Larry is a husband, father, and grandfather. He lives in Sunset Beach, California, with his wife, Bernadette, and their teenage son Logan, who is mentioned often in the book. The Senn family has a deep commitment to family, faith, fitness, and well-being. Larry and his wife, Bernadette, have five children and five grandchildren, all of who share an equal passion for family, well-being, and personal growth. Bernadette retired from Senn Delaney to be a full-time mother. She was SVP HR at Senn Delaney and was co-author with Larry of an earlier book, The Human Operating System – An Owner’s Manual.

Larry’s personal purpose is to help an ever-widening circle of people live life at their best mentally, emotionally, physically, and purposefully. That purpose led him to add the Mood Elevator as a concept to Senn Delaney culture-shaping seminars, which have reached tens of thousands of people and to write this book to reach even more.

Live Like a Leader - Podcasting Made Simple with Jonathan Rivera
play

11/24/21 • 43 min

Jonathan Rivera has been podcasting since 2008. He knows how podcasting can work for your business. That's why the top coaches and consultants trust his team at The Podcast Factory® to help them leverage the power of podcasting to reach more people, make a lasting impact, and become more influential leaders in their communities.
This all started as a personal development project. In a world where too many people focus on only ONE aspect of their lives without integrating the rest, Jonathan believes we should all think bigger. Do more. Have more. Be more. Give more.
Jonathan had some cool friends who showed him how to improve his business and his life, from family, faith, fitness, and finances. He wanted to learn more from them, so Jonathan figured he could record their conversations – share them via podcasts – and they would help everyone who listened to them talk. That's when he discovered the first part of his Direct Response PodcastTM Framework.
Jonathan calls it The Content VaultTM and it's a speed influence tool for coaches and consultants that eliminates your market’s objections before they talk to you. Plus, it helps you build rapport with your listeners in minutes instead of years. The effect is a higher close rate and shorter sales cycle because people know they can trust you before they get on a call.
Connect with Jonathan via LinkedIn, Twitter, or Instagram or email him at [email protected].

Live Like a Leader - I Survived an Avalanche! | Shelley Anderson
play

07/03/24 • 45 min

In 2017, Shelley survived an avalanche while on a heliboarding trip in Colorado’s backcountry. This little wake-up call reminded her to not put off pursuing the things you are passionate about and to appreciate the ones you love most of all. Shelley loves the craft of voice acting as much as Shelley loves gliding down trails and slopes. So, Shelley began an intensive study of voice acting, in addition to the VO that Shelley was already doing as an instructional designer. An avalanche survivor, Shelley just knows how to roll with it, and you will find me to be flexibly directable and a lot of fun to work with. Shelley approaches recording sessions the way Shelley approaches an intimidating jump - by looking ahead, spotting the landing, and with one hundred percent commitment. In commercial work, Shelley offers a uniquely human range from the smart shopper with the knowing wink of your best friend, the tech-savvy trusted coworker, the confident leader at a board meeting, to the nerdy gear-obsessed athlete with real, conversational believability. For animation and video games, Shelley offers strong, powerful, confident female leads and a wide range of interesting non-human characters.

Shelley is professionally trained and has ongoing coaching relationships with Nancy Wolfson of BrainTracks Audio, Donna Grillo, Randall Ryan, and Rachel Alena. As an athlete, Shelley understands how training and practicing your craft is a lifelong endeavor. Shelley also actively participates with Bend Comedy Improv troupes.
