Send us a text

Welcome to ‘Live from the CodeBar’, recorded from the code themed bar of Fenwood Manor. On this show we will talk about Morse Code, starting with the life of its wacky creator Samuel Morse to the invention of the telegraph and finally how the code was developed and its uses which still have a place in popular culture.

CodeBar Cocktail

The Telegraph Cider

Ingredients

· 3 Oz Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider

· 1.5 Oz Dark Rum

· 0.5 Oz Toasted Marshmallow Syrup

*Toasted Marshmallow Syrup*

· 1 Cup Water

· 1 Cup Sugar

· 1 TSP Vanilla Extract

· 8 Large Marshmallows

Combine sugar and water in a pot. Bring the water to a boil and make sure all sugar is dissolved. Reduce the heat and allow to simmer. Put marshmallows on a skewer and toast them until they are slightly burnt on a stove burner or with a lighter. Add the toasted marshmallows to the simmering syrup and stir until they are all dissolved. Turn off heat and allow to cool. Strain the mixture with a fine strainer, leaving just the syrup, stir in the vanilla extract and store in the fridge until needed.

Directions:

Add the Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider, the Dark Rum and the toasted Marshmallow Syrup over ice. Stir and top with a toasted marshmallow on a stick.

CodeBar Live Show 4 - The Mysterious St Germain

Send us a text

Welcome to ‘Live from the CodeBar’, recorded from the code themed bar of Fenwood Manor. On this show we will talk about the new armchair treasure hunt ‘The Letters of St. Germain’ by Lisa Finch. This new hunt consists of a series of letters, poems and images that when solved will lead you to the Horn of Magistrum treasure proxy hidden somewhere in the continental United States.

CodeBar Cocktail

St Germain’s Rouge Corpse Reviver

Guaranteed to bring your soul back from the living dead,

This devilishly deathly drink is a deliciously dirty red!

Take mother’s ruin, an ounce of gin.

And two ounces of Cherry Mariner sin.

Add murderous Absinthe if you dare,

But just an eight of a teaspoon, take great care.

A dash of lemon juice juice will cut the sweet,

Then add some ice to remove the heat.

Shake till the blood runs dirty pink,

And then it’s time to sink your drink!
