David J is a British alternative rock musician, producer, and writer. He is the bassist for the gothic rock band Bauhaus and for Love and Rockets. With his new release Tracks From the Attic, David J invites listeners on a most fascinating journey: we’re looking through boxes of tapes, getting reacquainted with an artist we’ve known for a long time – yet, the intimate songs he recorded in solitude over three decades reveal new sides to him. Dubbed An Evening With David J, the tour begins on the album’s release day, Friday May 3.

In 2011, Helado Negro visited dublab on a broadcast day organized to assist in Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief. The broadcast, entitled DUBLAB LOVES JAPAN, featured an array of artists focused on sending support to our friends affected by the disaster. We hope you enjoy their live set!

“Dimensions of Voice” highlights 3 artists who use voice as a central instrument; as landscape, sound bath, conjuring device, and fluid transmission between worlds, binaries, time and space.

An extension of the Art of Performance Series, “Dimensions of Voice” is a broadcast of sets by Colin Self, Odeya Nini and Anna Oxygen, all who engage in composing practices that center voice tripping, voice improvisation, and voice as a cosmic force for community connection.

Colin Self is an artist and composer based in Berlin. They create music, performance and environments for expanding consciousness, troubling binaries and boundaries of perception and communication. They work with communities across disciplines and practices, using voices, bodies, and computers as tools to interface with biological and technological software. Self is a Rhizome Commission Grant recipient for video project ClumpTV, a Queer Art Mentorship Fellow, and was an Eyebeam Resident in 2016. They are a co-founder of queer collective Chez Deep and The Radical Diva Grant, and was a vocalist and performer for the band SSION. Self runs a non-utilitarian choir internationally, and has released several albums including a solo album “Siblings”, on RVNG International in 2018
