28: Generational Curses
Light in the Darkness
09/19/23 • 91 min
Pastor Shelly is back to sit down with the boys and discuss generational curses.
Have you ever noticed things that seem to follow your family? Certain illnesses, addictions, early deaths - honestly the list is just almost endless. Few people actually know the details of their ancestors' lives and what sins may have been committed to open the door for the enemy to torment their family line.
In this episode, Pastor Shelly McWilliams breaks down some of the basics of what generational curses are, how they are still in operation in the new covenant, and what believers need to do to apply the blood of Jesus to break these curses off of themselves and their descendants.
During their chat, Pastor Shelly walked us through the prayer path she uses with her clients for breaking generational curses. We invite all of our dear listeners to take the time to consider using this prayer to proclaim the blood of Jesus over your ancestral lines.
Sins of the Fathers & Resulting Curses Prayer
- I confess the sins of my ancestors, my parents, and my own sins of ______.
- I choose to forgive and release my ancestors, as well as all others who have influenced me, for these sins and curses, and for their consequences in my life. (Be specific about the consequences)
- I ask You to forgive me, Lord, for these sins; for yielding to them and to the curses. I receive Your forgiveness.
- On the basis of Your forgiveness, Lord, I choose to forgive myself for entering into these sins.
- I renounce the sins and curses of __________. I break these powers from my life and from the lives of my descendants through the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross.
- I receive God's freedom from these sins and the resulting curses. I receive ____________. (Ask the Holy Spirit what you should receive)

LITD Flashback - Episode 36: This Is Not Who You Are
Light in the Darkness
03/18/25 • 122 min
While away on their sabbatical, the boys invite you to listen to this episode featuring their reflections on its significance.
_________________________________________________________________
The boys are joined by Brandon Sanders, Lead Pastor & Executive Director of the Wings of Life, a faith-based addiction recovery center in Mobile, AL.
When he was a child, Brandon’s father murdered his mother. He was then placed in a “Christian” foster family where he and his sisters were abused. Brandon walked away from these traumatic events believing that God hated him, and he turned to drug addiction to cope. After 20 years of addiction, Brandon was prepared to end his life one night. After checking into a motel and getting drunk, Brandon began screaming at God and venting a lifetime worth of hurt and rage. At some point he collapsed and told God that he wanted to know Him. It was then that Brandon felt as if God wrapped him in an embrace and took Brandon in as his son.
Brandon then sought treatment for his addiction, and came to the same center that he now directs. The Lord has given Brandon a mantle for finding fatherless men, and the message that God wants to be their Father.
Along the way, Brandon shares testimonies of lives he has witnessed the Lord impact. Lives that were saved from addiction, broken belief systems, and flawed identity.

64: From Blood Oaths to the Blood of Jesus
Light in the Darkness
01/07/25 • 141 min
Daniel and Cory sit down with Mason Skaggs, whose testimony reveals a harrowing yet redemptive journey from a childhood immersed in spiritual intensity to a life ensnared by darkness. Mason shares raw, vivid stories of his upbringing in a Pentecostal home, where faith was tangible but eventually distorted by control and fear. After losing his mother at a young age and enduring the spiritual and emotional fallout, Mason faced the shattering of his trust in God, plunging into anger and rebellion.
Through vivid storytelling, Mason unpacks his descent into occult practices, sexual immorality, and drug addiction. He shares chilling accounts of practicing magick, crafting sigils, engaging in blood rituals, and even attempting to “sell his soul to the devil” by signing a contract in his own blood. His path was marked by terrifying encounters with demonic entities, including a paralyzing moment where he was confronted by an otherworldly being. Tormented by voices of condemnation and filled with hatred, Mason sought fame, pleasure, and escape, only to find himself trapped in deeper despair.
Mason’s turning point came in the aftermath of an overdose that nearly claimed his life. Amid the chaos, the relentless love of Christ began breaking through the darkness. Mason details how a Christian rehab center, a supernatural prophetic encounter, and even a song on the radio stirred his heart toward repentance. He began to see the reality of his sin and the overwhelming mercy of Jesus. Mason’s story demonstrates that there is no rite, no oath, and no contract with the enemy that the blood of Jesus cannot break when we surrender our lives to Him.
Now delivered from the chains of addiction and spiritual oppression, Mason shares the joy of his restored identity in Christ. His testimony speaks to the renewing power of God’s Word, the ministry of deliverance, and the abundant grace available to those who surrender their lives to Jesus. This episode is a gripping account of redemption—a story of light conquering darkness, and a life transformed by the unrelenting love of God.

40: Uncle Pastor Gil
Light in the Darkness
03/12/24 • 130 min
Cory's uncle & pastor joins the boys to share his testimony and talk Genesis 6.
Uncle Pastor Gil was raised in a very demonstrative Pentecostal church where the Holy Spirit regularly moved during services. The people of the church would respond by dancing, singing, screaming, and shouting. Shoes flew across the room, the Gifts of the Spirit were in operation, and once one of the men thought the baptism tank was empty only to find out it was full when he jumped in it to dance.
Despite having grown up in this church where the manifest presence of God was felt during services, when Gil was a teenager he found himself not knowing how to have a personal relationship with the God he knew to be real. He describes the disconnect of going from the electric-charged atmosphere of Sunday morning service to the day to day life that just didn't feel the same.
Gil was told time after time that there was a call on his life to be a minister, but he wasn't sure if that really was the future for him. This led to tension in his home, and after graduating college, Gil suddenly moved out of his parents' home and cut contact with them. Even apart from the Christian family he was raised in, Gil still wanted to know more about Jesus and how to live in relationship with him, so he enrolled in classes at Bible school.
After three years of separation from his family, Gil suddenly found himself reunited with his parents, beginning his sophomore year of Bible college, and accepting the call of God on his life to pursue ministry.
After sharing his journey to where he is today, Uncle Pastor Gil then walks us through what happened in Genesis 6 when the sons of God "knew" the daughters of men, and how these events play into the greater narrative of scripture, the fall of man, and the reason Jesus came to earth.
This is not an episode to miss. Don't delay - just press play!

62: Crying Out in the Abyss
Light in the Darkness
12/03/24 • 110 min
The boys sit down to hear the testimony of their guest Fady, a former Coptic Christian who left his faith to embrace Islam—only to face harrowing visions of hell that would change his life forever. Fady candidly recounts his journey, sharing the deep personal struggles and influences that led him away from Christ and into a dark spiritual abyss.
His story takes a shocking turn as he describes vivid, terrifying encounters with a deep, dark void—a place he instinctively knew was hell. The despair and hopelessness were so overwhelming, it left him questioning everything. After a final, chilling experience of being abandoned to this darkness, Fady cried out to Jesus as his last resort. What happened next defies explanation and stands as a powerful testament to the redemptive power of faith.
Join us for an unforgettable episode that explores the themes of loss, redemption, and the undeniable presence of Jesus in the darkest moments. Fady's testimony is more than just a story—it’s an invitation to anyone seeking light in their own darkness.
