EPISODE SUMMARY:
How easily can you sit with uncomfortable feelings? Would you believe me if I told you that a world of entirely new possibilities is available if you can learn to ride out those waves?
Today we talk with Dr. Luke Sniewski, a somatic therapist trained in Gabor Mate’s therapeutic approach, Compassionate Inquiry. Luke trains and mentors other practitioners in this approach and strives to reconnect clients to their bodies so they can listen to and care for themselves, and from this place, leave behind old stories and patterns.
Listen in to hear about the relationship between the body and mind in healing, the innate wisdom our bodies hold, how Compassionate Inquiry can help us bridge our past and present experiences, and more!
Topics We Discuss:
- [3:18] Healing the body and mind, which comes first? Depends who you ask, but you can’t argue with your body’s physiological response to something. For example, how do you feel while following a specific diet, regardless of how someone else says you should feel? Paying attention to our body’s cues helps open the door to choosing differently.
- [9:09] The mind and stress. Our minds react to somatic stressors, such as experiencing anxiety after drinking a lot of coffee. The mind tries to come up with explanations outside of the body to explain the stress and anxiety. If the body is stressed, the mind is too.
- [13:19] Responding to a thought, whether in a “healthy” way or “unhealthy way”, engrains reactive patterning in our minds. Stillness is the key. Return to your breath.
- [18:51] Integrating insight in the body. Noticing not only our psychological patterns, but also the way our bodies feel in these patterns gives us another layer of understanding and an opportunity to choose differently for ourselves. Pausing before reacting allows us to make changes.
- [21:56] Compassionate Inquiry- Gabor Mate’s method- bridging the present-day suffering to what happened in childhood. Avoidance, repression, and numbing are the common coping mechanisms developed in childhood.
- [25:25] Urge surfing. Riding out uncomfortable experiences until they pass, without responding to the experience. Everything eventually passes. We can’t fight the wave, but we can learn to surf.
- [30:14] The body has wisdom the mind doesn’t understand. Fever and vomiting are two healing processes of our bodies that feel alarming to our minds.
- [33:05] Luke’s journey as a somatic healer and experience with Compassionate Inquiry. The CI approach calls for the practitioner to see the patient as the expert and remove their own assumptions. It puts you in relationship with the patient’s mind and body, which helps the patient see their own mind-body connection.
- [36:35] Most people are disconnected from their bodies because this disconnection helped them survive in childhood. One way to get around this is by imagining someone else going through the same situation and how that person must have felt. The goal is to bypass the mind’s defenses to connect the patient with their felt experience.
- [40:58] Someone being present with us without reacting to the pain we are experiencing allows us to connect with and move through emotions. Parents often rush to calm their children because they are uncomfortable with their child’s emotions instead of just witnessing them. Healing ourselves improves our capacity to be present with others.

EPISODE SUMMARY:
How can you give your grief a place to go?
Today I talked with Erika Gabriel, a spiritual teacher, wayfinder, and medium. Her lifelong journey has led her to delivering powerful messages from the spirit world. Because Erika believes everyone can work with Spirit, she has just released a course called The Way and also hosts a podcast.
Listen in to hear about the acceptance of grief, how to connect spiritually by connecting with yourself, and more.
Topics We Discuss:
- [03:16] The specialness of evidential mediumship is seen when specific things come through and deeply resonate with people. This way, on a spiritual, mental, emotional, and soul-level, that person has an acknowledgement and understanding that their loved one is still with them.
- [7:42] When you think about a loved one that was on earth that you’re missing, you’re in a painful spot. While you can acknowledge those feelings on earth, talking to them on the other side gives you somewhere to go, because you can think of them now. If you can find a way to listen to your intuitive voice, you can give your grief a place to go.
- [10:53] For people who want to connect spiritually, don’t focus on the end result. First start to practice connecting with yourself by quieting your mind and listening to your own inner voice.
- [19:51] Only work with a medium if you feel drawn to them. If you're unsure, your intuition is telling you something isn’t right, or the timing isn’t right. Don’t get the reading.
- [28:20] People are missing the understanding that we are all connected. We have a direct line to the divine and God. God is running through us, permeating the space around us, and connecting us all. We’re a part of that and chose to come here to experience that. Leaning into that is worship.
- [30:30] The Way is an opening of self reflection and understanding followed by concrete, down-to-earth tools to help you move through roadblocks and access your true potential.
- [31:11] If you received everything you ever wanted tomorrow, would you be ready?

EPISODE SUMMARY:
Have you heard of light codes before? Do they sound a bit too “woo” for you? What if I told you they’re something that can easily become part of your everyday life?
Today we talk with Rhiannon Heins, an Australian healer, intuitive, and energy worker, founder of the Intuitive Rebirth Energy-Work Method, and #1 bestselling author.
Her new book “The Keepers of the Light Codes” is a channeled text meant to initiate light workers out of a never-ending spiritual search and into their highest expressions of self. Her life’s work is centered around helping to initiate heart-centered healers and leaders.
Listen in to learn more about the divine energies that are all around us and how to integrate them into your daily life.
Topics We Discuss:
- [3:12] How Rhiannon started channeling in her early 20’s. Lost, disconnected, and unfulfilled she began doing yoga and connecting with herself. She took a leap of faith and moved into her fear. She kept asking for help internally and her life changed almost overnight.
- [7:18] Her intuitive connection opened through tangible, real-life experiences and grew almost instantaneously. She finally saw how magical and miraculous life was and anchored herself in that energy. Her gifts exploded rapidly.
- [9:16] Rhiannon’s understanding of who she is channeling has changed over time. She didn’t know who was coming through at first. Over time, she realized the beings she channeled matched her own energy.
- [11:30] Rhiannon began connecting with Ascended Masters like Mother Mary and Quan Yin. She received transmissions of energies through images. We can call on specific energies to channel. Don’t limit yourself to one vibrational frequency.
- [16:16] We all have an army of resonant light beings and souls around us. These are souls we’ve met across lifetimes, galactic beings we resonate with, holy masters, and angels we’ve connected with. We just have to create mental space so that we can feel into them. Presence brings space for intuitive insight. You don’t always need meditation to tap into higher consciousness.
- [22:13] We are all channels. We all channel wisdom and creative insight. Actors are great examples of people tuning into and embodying a specific frequency.
- [22:57] Light codes are wisdom embedded in higher energies that we can embody and bring down to earth. Wisdom is layered.
- [24:00] Rhiannon’s book is split into two sections. Lessons, which are simple teachings about our true nature, and initiations. Initiations are energy work embedded in text that work on our layers of resistance to higher consciousness. Some may not affect us because we’ve already worked through them.
- [27:16] We are all here to be keepers of light codes. We must awaken and shake off societal constraints and the illusions of unworthiness and doubt.
- [28:30] As her awareness has changed, the way Rhiannon experiences day-to-day life has also changed. It’s all divine. Nonjudgmental awareness of all aspects of self allows for divine experience. The divine is always there.
- [31:24] Integrating higher energies into daily life is hard for most. It’s why a lot of people suffer. Many spiritualists escape into these higher energies. This world is hard, but it’s also full of so much magic. You just have to look around.
- [33:45] Galactic Federation or “Army” of Light. Many light beings are incarnated here right now. There are light beings all throughout space and time. When you weave them all together, they are a wise collective consciousness.

EPISODE SUMMARY:
How do you respond to challenges in your life? Many of us turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms, and then eventually fall flat on our face and have to actually acknowledge what we’ve pushed away. The depth that we are able to meet ourselves and then others with vulnerability and authenticity drastically affects our healing path.
Today we talk with Neeta Bhushan, co-founder of the Global Grit Institute, a mental health training platform for leaders and coaches, co-founder of the Dharma Coaching Institute, training thousands to live their best lives, and a thriving coach in her own right.
Neeta went through the depths of the most unimaginable grief and eventually met herself and soared to great heights. She’s helped thousands of people move past their heartbreaks, failures, and disappointments, researched human behavior, and fallen more than a few times herself, so she knows what it takes to get back up no matter what took you down.
Listen in to hear her incredible story and how you can apply the lessons she’s learned about resilience, falling apart, vulnerability, and healing in your own life.
Topics We Discuss:
- [3:02] Neeta’s story. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when Neeta was 10. She had to grow up early and take on a lot of responsibility as the oldest daughter. Her parents were also tiger parents and she was expected to perform at a high level in school.
- [8:16] Neeta’s younger brother passed away within a year of her mom passing. Two years later, her father also passed. She fell into victim and survival mode, overwhelmed by grief. Her extended family stepped in to help her and her remaining brother.
- [15:45] The family support also fed her coping mechanisms in her 20’s. She didn’t rock bottom until 29. Up until that point, she became an overachiever and just tried to push forward and “be okay”. Education and success were her addictions.
- [20:20] Neeta had the “perfect” marriage in her 20’s... but it was all a lie and she eventually divorced because the relationship was tumultuous. This was the beginning of her spiritual awakening.
- [26:09] “Fly forward.” Neeta talks about this concept in her book - when we experience a fall we are faced with a decision to take responsibility and change or not. She dove headfirst into therapy and healing.
- [29:30] The meaning that you make about your experiences changes everything. Neeta calls this “the bounce factor”. The in-between stage between a sucky thing happening and moving forward requires vulnerability. You have to let go of any judgments you may have about the meaning you made.
- [33:45] Positive psychology has turned into a way to deny “bad” feelings and make everything positive. Toxic positivity became one of Neeta’s coping mechanisms. She is naturally optimistic and clung onto that during hard times. After her brother died, she experienced survivor’s guilt and the opposite of this positivity.
- [37:05] Where Neeta is now. After her divorce, she walked away from everything she previously knew and began saying “yes” to everything that she possibly could to push herself. She went on spiritual pilgrimages, started a nonprofit called “Independent Awakening”, began taking classes at Stanford business school, and became an angel investor - all while her dental practice grew.
- [43:20] Neeta eventually sold her practice because her ego wanted to expand it, but her heart was pulling her elsewhere. She moved to the Bay Area on a mission to interview 500 leaders and founders, and with that published her first book, “Emotional Grit.” She met her now-husband at multiple conferences over a few years until they decided to be together despite him being from Kuala Lumpur.
- [46:53] Neeta and her husband put their core values at the center of their relationship, something that couldn’t have been done without each of them doing the work on their own. Sh...

EPISODE SUMMARY:
How can we heal ourselves and others?
Today I talk with Frans Stiene, a major influence on the global research into the system of reiki since the early 2000s. His practical understanding of the Japanese influence on the system has allowed students around the world to connect deeply with this practice. He’s the co-founder of the International House of Reiki and the Shibumi International Reiki Association, and the author of The Inner Heart of Reiki, Reiki Insights, and the new The Way of Reiki - The Inner Teachings of Mikao Usui, among others.
Listen in to hear how Frans defines and understands reiki, how it relates to different symbols, energy, healing, and more.
Topics We Discuss:
- [1:52] Traditionally the word reiki was pointing to your own true nature, your essence, your inner, great bright light. There were very specific practices within the system of reiki in order to really lay that luminosity bare.
- [6:29] When we let go of the ego, we have direct unification with what is, with our minds and the universe. When that happens, a lot of energy starts to emanate from us and we can start to help others with that energy.
- [16:20] The precepts in the system of reiki are: do not anger, do not worry, be grateful, be true to your way of being, and be compassionate to yourself and others. Ultimately within your inner bright light—your inner luminosity—there is no anger or worry; the more we let go of that, love and kindness automatically come forward.
- [22:18] If your mind is distracted, automatically your energy is distracted. Our mind affects our energy and our body. If we’re angry, it will constrict my energy; it’s very obvious. But in a lot of healing practices, this isn’t taught.
- [25:12] There’s a merger of energy between healer and the person being healed; which is why the healer’s energy is so important. If the healer is using their energy to heal, it must be luminous. The more we practice for ourselves and the healing deepens for us, the more we can help others.
- [28:02] Often humans like to do things; we like to stimulate our energies, but this can make that energy distracted. Instead, we can go into a very deep state of mind where it feels like we’re like the sun, then all we have to do is simply let that sun shine.
- [32:10] When we have a taste of expansion, freedom, or returning to ourselves, then we have an address and know how to get back there. If we have that taste, then we can continue to practice and know if we’re on the right path or not.
