Hey BFF! Let's take a few minutes and talk about the times that we are really hard on ourselves. Why do we beat ourselves up? I'm reading an excerpt from Melissa Horvath's devotional book, You Got This. Let Melissa's words be a reminder that we should see ourselves as Jesus does. I hope this blesses you today!

Hi BFF! Winter can sometimes be a drag, and I am changing that mindset. The
BFFs are spending the entire month learning new habits and gaining a new
perspective on some old ideas. Hop on the train, as Travel Tip Tuesday is our
first stop!
Today, I'm catching up with Kim Denison from Denison travel to learn how to
better plan for vacations, and how to get young children and teens more
involved in the excitement. Kim shared what she does with her own
family, and I can't wait to implement all that I learned with my crew! I hope
you enjoy! Thank you for listening!
I love you,
Heather

*MY FAVORITE!!!
Sharon's Sugar Cookie Recipe
-1 cup shortening or 1 cup softened butter (I use half of each)
-2 cups sugar
-2 eggs
-2 teaspoons vanilla
3-1/2 cups sifted self-rising flour
Cream shortening and sugar on low speed with an electric mixer. Gradually beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add the flour a little bit at a time.
Wrap cookie dough in plastic wrap and store in fridge for 2 hours to overnight. Roll about 1/4 inch thick, cut out cookie shapes and bake on an uncreased cookie sheet at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes. Tops will not be browned. Remove from hot cookie sheet after cooking 3 minutes.
Decorate with frosting and sprinkles when completely cooled.

170 | Balancing Productivity & Self-Care: Knowing When to Do the Minimum vs. the Maximum
Life Coach BFF Show for Midlife Women - Thrive in Midlife, Women Over 40, Women Over 50, Goal Setting, Navigating Menopause, Purpose Driven Life, Faith, Systems
05/02/24 • 16 min
In episode 170 of Life Coach BFF Show, host Heather Pettey dives into the importance of understanding when to do the minimum versus the maximum, especially for midlife women navigating the challenges of raising teens or empty nesting.
She explains that sometimes, the best thing we can do is embrace the minimum - taking a break, saying no, and prioritizing self-care. Other times, going the extra mile and doing the maximum can lead to incredible rewards, whether in our careers or personal passions.
The key is to avoid feeling guilty about not always being maximally productive, and instead, give ourselves permission to ebb and flow between the minimum and the maximum as needed. Heather encourages listeners to tune into their own unique needs and rhythms, and practice self-compassion along the way.
Key Takeaways:
- There is power in knowing when to do the minimum vs. the maximum
- Embracing the minimum can be crucial for self-care, rest, and restoration
- Doing the maximum can pay off when you have the energy and motivation
- Finding the right balance is about tuning into your unique needs and rhythms
Actionable Tips:
1. Recognize the importance of rest and relaxation, and schedule intentional breaks.
2. Reframe your mindset around productivity - define it in a way that works for you.
3. Identify the root cause of your guilt, whether it's internal or external pressure.
