#90 Raising Money Savvy Children
Let’s Talk Money and More
05/15/23 • 10 min
Welcome to the latest episode of Let’s Talk Money and More Podcast, the podcast that's all about empowering you to take control of your finances. In this week's episode, we're talking all about our favourite topic: our children.
As you may know, I've been coaching a group of Year 10 students in Wiltshire for the past couple of years, and it's been an incredibly rewarding experience. In fact, helping young people develop a healthy relationship with money is one of my passions, and I'm excited to share some of the strategies I've used with you today.
We're going to cover some simple but effective strategies that parents can use to teach their children about money management and financial literacy. Whether you have a younger child or a teenager, it's never too early or too late to start. And trust me, with the right mindset and approach, you can help your kids become money-savvy in no time.
So, tune in and get ready to learn some valuable tips on raising money savvy children. It's going to be a great episode, and I can't wait to share it with you. Enjoy!
Key Takeaways
- Start early with simple concepts, such as giving children pocket money and teaching them about saving, spending, and giving
- Teach by example. Model good financial habits, be mindful of your spending and saving habits, and involve children in financial decision-making processes.
- Encourage entrepreneurship. Encouraging children to start their own businesses and earn their own money can be a great way to teach them about money management and financial responsibility.
- Use real-life examples. Discuss the cost and benefits of big-ticket purchases, teach them about the stock market and investing.
- Make it fun and interactive. Use games like Monopoly and online resources and apps to track spending and saving. Involve children in charitable giving and teach them about the importance of giving back to the community.

Welcome to the latest episode of Let’s Talk Money and More Podcast. In this week’s episode 89, I chat with the one and only Shaa Wasmund MBE. With over 20 years of experience building and exiting multiple businesses, Shaa is a fierce advocate for financial empowerment and helping others fulfill their greatest human potential, no matter their background. From being the youngest and only licensed female boxing manager in the world to setting up her own PR agency with Sir James Dyson as her first client, Shaa's entrepreneurial spirit and drive is truly remarkable. - Encouraging children to budget and plan for their future is a valuable lesson that can set them up for success.
- Developing a healthy relationship with money comes from within and starts with self-belief and self-worth.
- Changing your relationship with money is a journey and a work in progress, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

#72 Just Be You
Let’s Talk Money and More
01/10/23 • 30 min
We are nearly at the half way month for January, the nights are long, the days short and there is a distinct lack of festive lights. This can be a tricky time to keep going with the new years resolutions you may have set, or the ambitious goals you decided for yourself and now your whole ability to focus on what you set out to do can start to feel a little less enthusiastic than how you felt when you first started. And that is completely normal.
In this solo episode I’ll be sharing you some goal setting tips that work for me and I hope that it can inspire and help you set out your purpose driven goals. Enjoy tuning in!
Key Takeaways
Write down the intentions you have for the 12 months ahead. By writing down your intentions acts as an accountability tool. You can also write a letter to your future self, do it from the perspective of celebrating and congratulating yourself of the fact that you have achieved your goals for the year.
When we connect emotionally to our intentions and to the goals that we are setting, it is then that we create the real desire around what we're doing, and on why you were doing it. And it becomes something we want to move towards instead of trying to move away from.
Try to do new things. By discovering and trying something new moves you out of your comfort zone and allows you to see the art of possible.
Connect with yourself and vive yourself time to reflect. Ask yourself and answer with whole honesty – What am I doing? Why am I doing it? What is the result I want? And where are the gaps that stop me from getting what I want?
If you are feeling you're being pulled in all sorts of directions at the moment with regards to resolutions and goal setting, and words of the year, etc. What I would suggest right now is to just stop, take a deep breath, and just be you. Because when we are acting in complete integrity in who we are, then we have a much greater ability to work out what is right for us, and what isn't right for us.
As you set out your goals for the year, do it all in a position of gratitude. Recognise the opportunity to create more of what you want, to not judge and be kind to yourself in whatever point in your journey you find yourself at the moment. Just stop, take a deep breath and just be you. The best gift to give yourself is to be the best you that it's possible to be.

Let’s Talk Money and More
12/02/22 • 47 min
Welcome to the latest episode, in this week long celebration of the Let’s Talk Money and more podcast. Key Takeaways
Consistency is key and persistence will always win in the end.
‘If you can't get a seat at a table serve water’, be with the right people.
If an opportunity presents itself, start moving and building momentum in a direction it will take you, and do everything you can and trust the process.
In the world of life and business, you're going to be consistently told no. Remind your self that you’re one step closer. If something doesn't happen, or a door closes and a route doesn't pan out know that something better is coming.
Turn your pain into fuel and it will literally like be a rocket.
Train your brain to respond and react pro actively when it’s being challenged. Ask yourself like, “What is my body telling me? Why am I feeling this way?” And once you’ve educated yourself on that, you’d know what to do when situations as such come again.
Don’t mask the adversity. Always think that the quicker you can find a solution, and the lesson with any problem you face, the happier you'll be in life.

Let’s Talk Money and More
01/31/23 • 49 min
In this week’s episode # 75 of Let’s Talk Money and More Podcast, I am delighted to introduce you to another really amazing guest, Adam Stott, the founder of Big Business Events (BBE), the UK’s fastest-growing business members’ network which hosts training and networking events to help entrepreneurs at all stages of their business journey.
From dropping out of school at 15, briefly working for his father before landing a job at KFC, from working for Alan Sugar's company then a job at BMW, he then took the leap and start his own business. Join Adam and I as he share his money story, his experiences and all the wisdom he learned along his journey towards where he is at today. This episode is truly a motivating, insightful and fascinating listen, enjoy tuning in!
Key Takeaways
Spend less time worrying about money, take intentional actions to generate it, do a great job for people and serve them the best way you can then the more money will flow.
Be around an environment of winners. Be around people who do it in a higher level. It helps set your mindset, your benchmark and definitely changes your dynamics.
Celebrate other people’s success and analyse their success.
Be mindful of what you consume. Feed your mind with things that are positive and happy; things that inspire you, motivate you and help you grow.
Belief comes before the skill. You have to be successful in your mind before you ever going to be successful. It might be a journey. It might take me some time. And it might definitely feel uncomfortable but you’ve got to do it anyway and commit to achieve the success you want.
