Listen up, parents! This one's for you or anyone who wants to empathize with us during this crazy ride of parenting. Sometimes we say things we shouldn't about our kids, but you know you're thinking it too, so we'll say it out loud for you! The school year is ending, events are packed in, emotions are running high and our little ones are still navigating their feelings - or should we say attitudes? Brandy shares a hilarious story of (disclaimer) Mandarin orange throw-up, Brian shares his 'Elton John' story and we define projection so that you can be aware if you're putting your past shit onto your kids. We also explain why the 'happiest kid on the block' can be so annoying. Happy Listening!

Brian has been anticipating this episode. He shares his amazing marriage proposal that almost didn’t happen in Palawan, Philippines. It was an adventure and there were miracles all around but he couldn’t have pulled it off without his LA community. The story is about what’s possible when you don’t give up and BELIEVE. Speaking of believing, they just watched the season or series, who knows, finale of Ted Lasso and talk about the positivity that exudes from the hit show. Don’t worry no spoilers. But first off the episode starts by acknowledging this year’s Memorial Day at the end of May and the intense workout called ’The Murph that Brandy did in honor of our fallen soldiers. Sometimes we try to do our part, not matter how big or small to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Happy Listening!

In this episode we reminisce about our first vacation together as a new couple, what annoyed each other and what made us smitten over each other. Let’s just say it entailed a long bike ride and a hammock. The days of traveling without kids are no more. The short car trips and kicking back in the plane with a hot cup of coffee are long gone. Hello long car rides, lugging heavy car seats and extend iPad use. Don’t get us wrong, we use to be the judgmental child-free couple who rolled our eyes to the sound of crying babies, yes we own it. But now we roll our eyes back to the judgy child-free traveler listening to our kids being loud. Kids will be kids, babies will be babies, most times they can’t help how they’re feeling, but a man-baby crying over a baby crying is one shit show too far. Happy Listening!

This episode was a tough one to edit as Brandy takes it to heart. It’s packed with much insight, frustration yet the hope that we can all come together as one America with all facets of our history represented. As Florida state colleges and universities are being targeted by eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs we break down why these initiatives are important and critical to our growth.
As Brandy gives ode to her alma mater, Boston College, she's reminded of the amazing friendships and rich experiences that expanded her mind and fueled her soul. Brian shares how his pathway to college was through the military and reveals something new to her that is also a reminder of why higher education is just one way to change minds and change hearts.
Even though one went to college the traditional route and an unconventional route they both knew that higher learning may not be for everyone but it was the best decision for both of them. Happy Listening!

Buckle Up because in this this episode we go all out on how Brandy found closure and peace with her dad and why Brian is grateful she got it all out of her system with her ex's. The reunion with her dad was a bumpy one at first but like she says in the episode, 'she couldn't have script it any better'. So if you want to get rid of that baggage and take that leap of faith to find closure with that someone or someones we think her story will help free up that 9-year-old kid living in your grown-ass body.
But first we'll be starting off the episode with how we're both dealing with high cholesterol and just the reality if being...middle aged...is that what this is? You tell us! Take a moment to think about what health issues you're dealing with and be open to get checked, get those test results and do something about it. It's great to be alive and even better to be alive longer for those we love. Happy Listening!

In this first episode of the new year, we’ll catch you up on our crazy apartment move right before the holidays and why the perfect air fryer makes all the difference. Several major life events happen, and if you can make it through a shit show of a move with your partner, then you can make it through anything together.

We share what we’re leaving behind in 2023 and taking with us in 2024. If you haven’t guessed it yet, yup, we are giving zero fucks in 2024! What are you leaving behind and taking with you into the new year?

We’re also introducing our first guest, an exceptional guest; Brandy’s mom is here to talk with us! She tells us how she feels great at age 80 and why her best advice about the person you love the most is to “Love them the most when they are least lovable.”

Happy Listening!

Why celebrate AAPI Heritage Month? What is AAPI? What is Intergenerational trauma and what does that have to do with spanking kids? So many questions and we have some answers, well at least we have our own experiences to share and make sense of these topics. AAPI stands for Asian American and Pacific Islander. We talk about the important contributions these communities has had on our country and why it’s important to keep AAPI representation and traditions alive and well. Brandy shares little bit about her Filipino upbringing especially growing up in the Philippine Performing Arts Company of Tampa Bay (PPAC). Both Brian and Brandy share how they were spanked by the slipper or wooden spoon and why that generational curse ends with them and their kids. Happy Listening!

How did we start this conversation with laughing about how we met to celebrating 10 years of marriage to making sense of gun violence? By being open and honest. Let's be real, it's been a tough couple weeks with all the shootings happening in our country because someone simply knocked on the wrong door or drove up the wrong drive way. It's been hard kissing our son off to school but we still muster up the strength in front of him and hide the tears behind our eyes. Can you relate?
In this episode we try and do our part to honor the victims of these senseless gun acts from these past couple weeks by saying their names. Reminding ourselves that their lives mattered and that their deaths and traumatic injuries will not go in vain. We also bring up special memories of how we met to also remind ourselves of the sweet side of life. Remember when that special someone had a twinkle in their eye or when your heart fluttered when they walked in the room? Let us all be reminded of the best parts of humanity and what's possible when we fight for one another to live freely in our society; once we go back to 'Loving Thy Neighbor'. Happy Listening!

In this first episode we're thrilled to introduce ourselves as your hosts.
We briefly talk about what it's like to be in a mix-race marriage with two beautiful mix kids who at one time Brian tried to 'activate the black gene'. You have to hear it to believe it. And if you're just as frustrated as we are about the state of our world, at least our country, then you definitely have to listen in. We join you vent with us, laugh with us, connect with us and at the same time take a step back, take a deep breath so we can all figure out how to move forward together. Happy Listening!

Summer is under way and we hope you're remembering to take deep breaths as our children are running around the home. We had to take a short break but we hope you enjoyed our previous episodes that we RE-introduced to ya’ll.
We've been excited to share this episode because we're doing our first-ever giveaway. We’re giving away a book and it’s not just any book, it’s one of the banned books in the state of Florida: Amanda Gorman’s “The Hill We Climb”. Amanda made history as the youngest Poet Laureate to recite her poem at President Joe Biden’s Inauguration. We go into why restricting access to a book about hope and unity is absurd and why we chose it as our first-ever giveaway on our show. Brandy shares how doing a book report about Malcolm X was inspiring and gives a shout our to her 8th grade teacher, Ms. Brinsko for not banning not only a controversial book but a controversial public figure. Perhaps most teachers knows best in the classroom.
Happy Listening!
