Being Courageous with Lauren Cobb
Lets Be Honest Before We Start Pretending
10/16/23 • 28 min
Now that we know what the value of being courageous is and how much we actually truly access it, we are going to dive deeper into the topic and talk about how it really fosters growth. I am also really excited to bring back a fabulous guest on the podcast who is a fellow coach and works with people in the area of change also. Lauren Cobb is back and brings in her wisdom on this topic. I can’t wait for you to meet her.
Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College and, while she worked as a civil engineer briefly, she soon went on to explore a myriad of other jobs. Eventually, she found her passion in working with people and teams to find the throughline from a starting place of discomfort, dysfunction, and conflict to a new place of connection, coherence and purpose. She has done this work in a variety of contexts including: conflict management, organizational development, business advising, and now as a coach.
As a coach, Lauren is passionate about accompanying people through change that is occurring either by their own design or by circumstances. She knows the feeling of being stuck, limited, and overwhelmed. At the same time she sees change as the opportunity to choose something immensely more satisfying. Walking through that transformation with her clients is what makes her days energizing.

(04:46) Embracing courage and vulnerability
(09:42) What’s comfortable today may not be tomorrow
(14:35) The value of risk-taking

Ep 036: Let’s Do This 2021!
Lets Be Honest Before We Start Pretending
12/28/20 • 21 min
Today I am on my very own business retreat for the next couple of days, ok yes, it’s at home, and I have removed all of the distractions, I have two very large calendars up, charting paper, post it notes, and my journal. I have been dreaming big, so I am excited to take a few days to myself and put the dream into an actionable plan, and I can’t wait to share with all of you what’s coming. Since October I have been working with my entrepreneur clients on closing out 2020 and designing 2021. It’s been so amazing! I am really excited about what they are all creating, what they have learned in 2020, where they have pivoted, and overcome challenges, so inspiring.
Since I am hunkering down and plotting and planning a new year, I thought it would be super fun to share an exercise that I find really beneficial as I am closing out the year, so get a pen and paper out, you are going to want to write these down.
Today we are going to turn incompletions into completions, so that you have a brand-new space to create an epic 2021.

Ep 032: Leading the Time of Your Life with Jenny Ponzuric
Lets Be Honest Before We Start Pretending
11/30/20 • 46 min
I can’t believe we are at the end of November, heading straight into the holidays, year-end, and looking forward to 2021, and I don’t know about you, but I am really looking forward to a new year. Today we are going to be talking with Jenny Ponzuric who is going to assist us with utilizing our time efficiently through planning and organization, and I know personally when implementing the strategies we talk about today, you will have less stress going into the holidays and be ready, excited, and have the capacity to take on your business and personal goals in 2021!
Leaders don’t wait, they create. And so that means we must have a plan, use our time efficiently, and stay organized. This way we elevate unnecessary stress, procrastination, overwhelm, and we get to focus on the projects, programs, clients, etc. that really jazz us up. We get to stay true to our purpose, passions, and the vision that we have for our self, our business, in our careers, and also our self-improvement. I remember earlier this year shortly after launching this podcast, as well as working on a few other programs, I just stopped in my tracks. You know you don’t know what you don’t know, and I had planned some big things for 2020, and was not anticipating a global pandemic. I was feeling incredibly stressed and declared out loud “I NEED HELP”, I was feeling scattered, unorganized and couldn’t plan the next day to save my life. I reached out to Jenny and got myself back on track with her support. I can coach others, but not myself, and had lost touch, and needed to re-set.

Ep 075: Creating Your Next Level
Lets Be Honest Before We Start Pretending
09/27/21 • 26 min
Do you remember 2020 and feeling like being on a teeter totter of being motivated to move vs what was happening during the height of Covid-19? As the world began to re-open bit by bit, it was like coming out of some sort of hibernation in some ways. The constant posts from “this is the time to do more, be more, create more” to “don’t buy into the you need to be more” posts were enough to make one dizzy. Which way do we go?
I think we often find ourselves in the “which way do I go” mode. There is meaning we will all make up for ourselves or have made up for ourselves all the time, and we all at some level reinvent, contribute, and move forward. Bottom line, wherever you are in the matter is wherever you are supposed to be. Trust that and trust yourself.
During this episode we will explore creating yourself vs. finding yourself. It’s about choice and action all along the way.
Here are the highlights from this episode:
{5:21} Life is about creating yourself
{8:59} Become the person you want to be
{11:59} We all have the power of choice
{16:25} Don't blend in
{19:44} Put yourself in an empowered mindset

Ep 079: The Lessons – “What’s Your Plan”
Lets Be Honest Before We Start Pretending
10/25/21 • 23 min
I thought it would be fun to move from The Accidental Entrepreneur to being the Entrepreneur by design and talk about lessons learned, because I trust that can be helpful to you.
Today we are going to talk about leaping without a plan. There is that quote about leaping, and the net will appear. I believe that because I think it helps us with getting outside our comfort zone, it allows us to trust ourselves and go for it! However, I like to kick it up a notch because while I love leaping as I have been doing it for a very long time, I think it really boils down to leap and build the net on your way down. And by “the way down” I mean landing firmly on your feet, you know “stick the landing as they say”. That requires a plan with massive inspired action.
Are you a woman in business? Been thinking about taking a leap? Ready to make bold and massive moves? Love collaborating with highly committed and motivated women? This is 100% for you, and first up will be the Impact Business Academy for Women in Business launching January 2022.

Ep 050: Don’t Get It Twisted
Lets Be Honest Before We Start Pretending
04/05/21 • 25 min
Today we are talking about Mindset and how it can support us through times of adversity and circumstances that aren’t going our way. Your mindset determines your success. Skills and tools are not enough to win at the game of life. What makes the difference is your growth mindset that enables you to make the most of them.
The key to success and the key to failure is that you become what you think. The same is true for choosing a mindset that supports our success and by success I mean, what we choose is success to us and not what someone else defines as our success. With a fixed mindset people believe their qualities are fixed traits and therefore cannot change. With a growth mindset people believe that their qualities and abilities can be developed and grow. It contributes to your drive, willingness, and overall foundation of belief to aim for bigger, better things. If you have a fixed mindset, you'll find yourself becoming stuck, without the motivation to achieve anything greater than what you already have.
Today we are going to discuss the keys to have a consistent growth mindset, so let’s go!
