Many people may know what Essure is, but if you don't, it is a permanently implanted birth control device for women.
The story of this product is quite simply put, horrendous and Erin played a very active role in advocating for the removal of this device from the market for the reasons that are discussed in this podcast.

FDA preemption is the legal theory in the United States that exempts product manufacturers from been held accountable for bad products approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
