Mamina Turegano, MD has a special interest in evaluating how nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, and other environmental factors can play a significant role in inflammation, aging, and cancer. She enjoys incorporating holistic practices in her patients who deal with anything ranging from acne to warts. Given her background in internal medicine, she also has an interest in complex medical dermatology, including autoimmune skin diseases and psoriasis. In addition to practicing dermatology, Dr. Turegano is serving as the dermatopathologist for Sanova Dermatology in Old Metairie and is a volunteer instructor at Tulane University in the department of dermatology.

He graduated in 1981 from National College of Naturopathic Medicine and completed a residency there in Family Practice and Homeopathy. He is founder and medical director of Lokahi Health Center in Kailua Kona, Hawaii since 1986. He is board-certified in naturopathic oncology and homeopathy. His father was a dermatologist, and this inspired Dr. Traub to undertake additional study in this subject. He has lectured internationally and taught dermatology at six of the eight accredited naturopathic medical schools in North America. He is the author of “Essentials of Dermatologic Diagnosis and Integrative Therapeutics,” and a contributor to several textbooks including “Textbook of Natural Medicine.” Dr. Traub is Past-President of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and was awarded the AANP’s Naturopathic Physician of the Year award in 2006. He has served on many other professional boards in the realm of naturopathic and integrative medicine.
