  • As a leader, you have to be yourself. Don’t try and copy what someone like Steve Jobs or Elon Musk did, be yourself. Along with that, don’t try to change your employees, try to find what they are best at and let them excel at it.
  • Write down a vivid vision so people can see what it is and decide whether they want to be a part of that or not. If your employees believe in the vision, they will be willing to go to great lengths to help you accomplish your vision.
  • A good follower will believe what the leader believes but will offer different opinions on how to accomplish the vision. These diverse voices are the ones you want on your senior leadership team.
  • Ask your team for a solution to the problem before you tell them what you think your solution would be. The leader doesn’t always have to have the answer and this will encourage more input from your team.

  • As an entrepreneur, you need to allow your employees to solve problems on their own, without your involvement. While they may make mistakes, they need to learn from the experience and will never be able to if you try to solve every problem by yourself.
  • Put aside time every day to allow yourself to think outside of the box and get in touch with mentors.
