I recently met my guest, Corrine Angelica Conroy at a wedding we both attended when we sat together at dinner, and let me tell you, I fell in love.
And whenever these roundtable situations come up, so does the Enneagram. Corrine told me she was an Enneagram 2, the Considerate Helper, but I wasn’t sure—she doesn’t immediately fit all the type 2 stereotypes that normally jump out at you.
But after going deeper together, we discovered she is a Self-Preservation (SP) 2 Enneagram type. Within the 2 family, the Self-Preservation is the counter type, which means it does not look like your typical stereotype and can often be mistyped as a type 7 or a type 6.
Enneagram 2s are driven by self-sacrifice. They also love to be needed and the drive to be liked and appreciated is so strong they almost always have difficulty saying no.
Corrine Angelica is a Board-Certified Holistic Nutritionist! She helps women regulate their hormones by targeting the root cause of any imbalances and then using nutrition and lifestyle shift to help treat and regulate them.
On this episode of The Leadership Formula, Corrine describes her relationship with her family and how, while she was growing up, she often acted as the mediator. To this day she has trouble saying no to them. We’ll discuss the consequences of being an over-giver. Plus, I’ll share my top advice for how 2s (and the rest of us) can learn to say no without the accompanying guilt.
