How many empty bottles have you tossed into your trash bin in your lifetime? If you are like most humans, a lot. Instead, did you carefully place your plastic bottles into a recycling bin? Bad news, research shows only about 10% of plastics that we place in recycling bins actually get recycled. So what should we do? In this episode, I share some tips to reduce your plastic use and create less waste.

Raise your hand if you remember a cabinet in your parent’s kitchen filled with bottles embellished with Mr. Yuk stickers. And we knew whatever brightly colored liquids in those bottles were not safe, to drink, to touch, to smell, or just generally be around. And that instilled the tradition to keep that cabinet on lockdown for each generation to follow.
We had a cabinet of cleaning supplies, which was dangerous and we should not be near it.
