It's time for the next instalment of our crime novel, La Vérité éclate toujours, for advanced learners of French. Following a stressful interrogation from the Police, James returns to his hotel in turmoil, wondering whether to start investigating what has happened to Max. Is his friend not the person he thought he was? What might he found out about Max? He has so many questions but none of the answers - il se sentit pris de panique ! In Chapter 4, we meet some more verbs in the past historic and we hear a form of the phrase: tirer quelque chose.

It's time for the final chapter of La Vérité éclate toujours ! In this episode, we say farewell to our cast of characters, as they say farewell to one another too. Guillaume and Liliane return to Switzerland, while James, Claire, Yvette and Louise all find themselves together in Max's hospital room. They discuss the incredible adventures they've had over the past few weeks, but as Yvette is saying goodbye to Max, we realise that there may still be more adventures ahead of them... As always, we have some interesting words and expressions for you! Listen out for: faire le point sur and an appropriate expression for the final chapter: tout est bien qui finit bien.

In this episode, James and Guillaume attend their meeting with Roger Martin who is as unpleasant and rude as they expected, but James manages to stay in the character of David Munro and play along. Throughout the chapter, we come across many interesting expressions including cirer les pompes de quelqu’un and en connaître un rayon. James, Yvette and Claire are in disbelief as they discover the name of Claire’s ex-husband in one of the documents on Max’s USB stick. In an attempt to figure out how everything could be connected, they further examine the contents of the document, and make another discovery that leads them to the next stage of their investigation. As this episode is based around a dialogue between James, Yvette and Claire, we come across a number colloquial expressions and vocabulary. We hear various ways of showing disbelief, including the following phrases: j’en crois pas mes yeux and tout ça n’a aucun sens.
