LA Streeteria - Episode 4: Benjamin Marwaha-Krietzig | From Behind the Iron Curtain, To the Forefront of the Modern World

Episode 4: Benjamin Marwaha-Krietzig | From Behind the Iron Curtain, To the Forefront of the Modern World

10/05/21 • 92 min

LA Streeteria

In this episode I got to sit down virtually with Benjamin Marwaha-Krietzig who joins us from London, UK. Benjamin was born on the other side of the Berlin Wall in what used to be called the Democratic Republic of Germany (East Germany). Ben was really young when that iron curtain fell, not just in Germany but in all of the soviet world. He grew up in a world much different than his parents’ and because of that he would have access to visiting and furthering his education outside of the now non-existent GDR. Being able to meet new friends beyond that wall was something his parents would not take for granted. He traveled to America for an engineering internship with Nasa and the German Space Agency. It was here where Ben and I met and became good lifelong friends.

In this convo we discus the experience of seeing the world through an optimistic lens that takes nothing for granted. We discuss his experiences, his views on modern life, the future, the present, and how to best navigate it.

Episode 3: Galdmatic (feat. Me ) | The Crown World Experience 1 Year Later

A year ago I released an EP titled "Crown World" and there is a lot of overlap in the themes of that album and the ideas I explore as host of this podcast.

In this special solo episode, I setup my microphones by the patio fire and provide commentary while breaking down the raw recording sessions of the Crown World project which has been one of my most well received. I discuss the musical elements as I describe the process of building the tracks stem by stem, sharing a bit of my recording process, and then listening to the masters and breaking down the thematic lyrical elements.

As always there are a fair share of segue's where I dabble with some the ideas I'm wrestling with at the moment.

I get into a good natural groove and it was great to revisit the headspace and situation that led to this release.

Episode 5: Miguel Noyola | All Things Music, Production and Creating Studio Magic

Miguel Noyola is a music producer, instrumentalist, live music director who has been playing in, recording, and producing records for the last 16 years.

A special thing we share in common is that my first major project as an artist was also his first major project as a producer.

Since then he’s gone on to work on many projects for labels like Integrity Music, Gateway Worship, Tooth and Nail records, and many other major and independent artists.

It's been awesome seeing Miguel’s career evolve and grow from the very beginning, as well as his recording studio tools and vast array of analog and digital gear.

Today we will be sitting down to talk shop, reminisce on some of our past projects, discuss recording the magic of creation, and strategies to launch and promote a music project in this day an age.
