April Fools’ Day is a time of tricks, pranks, and, of course, fools. Today your host, Devon, and co-hosts, Chet and Cap, will talk about five animal species: the Sea Pig, Hammerhead Worm, Hing-toothed Macaque, Leaf Sheep, and Star-nosed Mole, one of which is fake, and you’ll have to guess.
The reveal is in a bonus episode that was published one week later. Even though the deadline has passed for submitting your guess, you can still try to guess which it is before listening to it! And be sure NOT to share any of the facts on today’s episode until you know which animal is fake. Happy April Fools’ Day!

Podcast Q&A
Why did you start this show?
I started this podcast because I love animals and podcasts. It was originally going to be just about birds (with the name “Bird Central”), but then I decided to broaden the focus and cover all kinds of animals. I was inspired by various podcasts I have listened to including _Cool Facts About Animals_.
Which episode should someone start with?
You can start with any episode you want.
Which have been your favourite episodes so far?
My favorite episode is always the last episode I made. With each one, I learn, try new things, and try to make it the best episode it can be.
What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?
I listen to many podcasts (64 and counting), so it’s hard to pick one favorite. I would say one of my favorite fiction podcasts is _Six Minutes_ from Gen-Z Media and one of my favorite non-fiction podcasts is _Unexplainable_ from Vox.
How did you come up with the name for your podcast?
The name “Kingdom: Animalia” comes from the scientific classification for animals, _Animalia_, which is called a “kingdom” (another example of a kingdom is _Plantae_ (plants)). When it was going to be just about birds, I called it “Bird Central,” and, after I decided to cover all animals, I called it “Animal Central” before switching to “Kingdom: Animalia.”
Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a _Homo sapiens_ who loves animals and lives in California. Some of my favorite animals are Chestnut-backed Chickadees and American Crows. I am also the creator of The Bird Birds ( https://thebirdbirds.com ), a bird webcomic. My pronouns are he/him. You can email me at [email protected] .
