A loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter. What’s on your shopping list this week?
It’s been an interesting few months in our country, and chances are you’ve gone to the store for the items on your list sometime this year, only to find the shelf empty of your favorite cleaning product, food staple, or toilet paper.
These shortages have been temporary, thank goodness. Those empty shelves are also a reminder to count our blessings. We have so much here in America, and sometimes we take for granted that the items we want will be there when we want and need them.
Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
Unlike the local supermarket, we serve a God whose supply never runs short. The Lord is faithful to meet all our needs, when we seek to follow Him. Sometimes we confuse a “want” with a “need,” and our expectations are a bit out of whack, but our Heavenly Father always knows what we need, and He is faithful to provide.
Let’s pray.
Lord, thank you for providing what we need, right when we need it. We know we can rely on your faithfulness. Amen.
