Dr. James Brauer is currently the Director of Graduate Studies and Instructor at Avila University’s School of Education. Previously, he was the founding school leader of Iowa Connections Academy (a public, virtual school serving students in grades K-12 throughout the state of Iowa) and an assistant principal for the North Kansas City School District. Dr. Brauer began his career as a special education teacher at USD 500 Kansas City, KS.
Abbie Eklund is an educator with twenty years experience in the field, including roles as a classroom teacher, district based teacher leader, and school administrator. She currently serves as an elementary school principal in Elgin (IL) School District U-46.
Allyson Apsey has taught grades three through eight and has been a principal for all levels K-12. Recognizing the significant impact trauma has had on many of our students, staff and families, Allyson became a Certified Trauma Practitioner in Education. Allyson writes on a blog called “Serendipity in Education” and has authored several books, including her newest book called Leading the Whole Teacher and the best-selling bookThe Path to Serendipity. Victoria Thompson is an education industry executive at Microsoft, an instructional designer for EduSpark and an ISTE Ambassador. She began her journey teaching fifth and sixth-grade math and science in Summerville, South Carolina. After completing her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, she moved to the Seattle area, where her career pivoted to focusing on STEM integration in schools; K–12 mathematics instruction with research on decolonizing mathematics curriculum for teachers and learners; creating inclusive math environments; and using technology to bridge equity gaps in education. Martha Ramirez has worked in the education field for more than 16 years. Her experience includes being a school teacher, a department head, a higher education educator, an academic consultant, and a researcher. She is an English professor in the Department of Languages and Sociocultural Studies at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia and works in various Flipped Learning international projects. Jon Bergmann is one of the pioneers of the Flipped Classroom Movement. He is leading the worldwide adoption of Flipped Learning through the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI) flglobal.org. He is the author of 12 books, including the bestselling book: Flip Your Classroom, translated into 13 languages. After spending seven years as a consultant, he has returned to his passion of reaching every student every day. Besides his work with Flipped Learning Global, he teaches full-time high school science in a suburban Houston Texas high school. Dr. Thomas Mennella has been an instructor in higher education for over ten years. Starting as a lecturer at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, and then moving on to an Assistant Professorship at Delaware State University (DSU), Tom is now an Associate Professor at Bay Path University, a private liberal arts institution in western Massachusetts. Dan Jones earned a BS in Middle Grades Education from Ashland University and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education. Dan is an FLGI Master Teacher whose professional interests include e-learning and technology, as well as Project-Based Learning.
