How do you show up in the world? Are you honest and aware of your own biases? We have to really know ourselves first before we can grow personally and professionally and truly be of value to others without bias. The beauty of life is diversity, and the basis of integrating that diversity into our lives in a productive and healthy way lies in emotional intelligence.

In this episode, the two Melindas dive into diversity and inclusion, how we all participate (consciously or not) and how simple it can be to affect real change. This episode is packed with practical information and delivered in a way that makes you wonder why everyone isn’t doing it!

In this episode we discuss:

  • Why biases are innate and inevitable.
  • How to accept the inevitability of biases while becoming aware of them in ourselves and our clients.
  • The six steps to elevate inclusion.
  • Our responsibility as coaches to recognize biases in our own lives and what to do about it.
  • How we can make a real difference in the world by starting in our own homes and social circles.
  • When and how to point out issues of bias in a professional setting.
  • How to create a culture of connectedness and inspire authenticity.
  • How to celebrate diversity and work toward inclusion.
  • The importance of extending grace when confronting biases and intolerance.
“We can’t grow ourselves if we don’t know ourselves.”
“Diversity and inclusion is not that hard...just be aware of where you are.”
