In this Josh Talks, Mohul Sharma talks about his journey of coming out and fighting the world to get recognized as a trans man. Mohul Sharma is a trans man he goes by the pronouns: he/him/his. Growing up he faced eyeballs from almost everyone due to his appearance, he was often called ‘Hijda’ and ‘Kinnar in a derogatory way’. Due to this, he struggled with mental health problems. He was also called mentally challenged by his school teachers.
Mohul Sharma started his transition phase in July 2017 when he started taking testosterone injections, this turned out to be the turning point in his life.
Mohul also talks about the time he reached out to Abhina Aher, who’s a transgender activist, this was the time when he didn’t feel left out and started to get accepted in the LGBTQ+ community.
This is the story of embracing who you are, fighting a battle for your identity, and carving out your space in the world.
