Who Will Make the Big Move for the Blazers?

It’s a Mail Bag Monday on the Jacked Ramsays podcast with hosts Danny Marang and Brandon Sprague taking on as many of your questions as they can tackle in an hour.
With Neil Olshey fired early Friday morning, questions centered around who would fill in temporarily (that’s Joe Cronin) and once that was confirmed, who is Joe Cronin (Interim GM) and what will he be able to do for the Trail Blazers in the meantime? Could Cronin end up the full time GM?
How much power - if any - will Cronin have to make a move? Under Paul Allen, interim GM Chad Buchanan was instrumental in guiding the franchise towards Damian Lillard, so it’s not unheard of that big moves could be undertaken but the not full titles Cronin.
If it’s not Cronin - who could it be? Brent Barry, Tayshaun Prince, Danny Ainge, Scott Perry and Mark Eversley all have been named as possible additions and their task at hand is no small won. Following an epic throttling at home by the Boston Celtics (which was preceded by another beat down by the San Antonio Spurs), it’s become clear to anyone and everyone that the Blazers need immediate change from the ground up. The core pillars beyond Damian Lillard - CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic - need to be on the move in order for Portland to make real change and reshape the roster.
With only 10 days before December 15th and nearly all NBA deals becoming available for addition in trades, whoever is tasked with these moves will have a short time to get it done - what does that look like?
Should the Blazers make a move immediately? Is this season salvageable? What packages are out there for players not named Ben Simmons? That and more on this week’s Jacked Ramsays mail bag podcast!

Jacked Ramsays Post Game: Blazers Vs Celtics
Join host Danny Marang for the Jacked Ramsays post game, where he’ll take a look at Saturday night’s game between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Boston Celtics that saw the Blazers fall 145-117. A record for points by the Celtics against the Blazers and the most that the Blazers have given up this year.
As has been the case with the Blazers on most nights, their opponent got what they want, when they wanted it and were met with very little resistance. The Celtics started off 12-13 from the field and were up 17 points in under 9 minutes of action.
The only positive was Jusuf Nurkic scoring at will against Enes Kanter Freedom... which, really only served to keep Portland from going down 30+ in the first frame. CJ McCollum tried to insert himself into the game at all the wrong times and all the wrong places, serving only to drive the Blazers further into the ground.
Thankfully, in the 2nd quarter the Celtics forgot how to basketball and allowed the Blazers to compete for just long enough to get you to accept keeping the channel on the game. However, as we should’ve known then.. it was a foolish errand.
Instead, you hung around (foolishly) and watched the home town team get absolutely punked on their home floor by a five-foot-eleven-inch kid from West Linn.

Jacked Ramsays Post Game: Blazers vs Clippers
Join hosts Danny Marang and Brandon Sprague as they take a look at Monday night’s Trail Blazers vs Clippers game that saw Portland lose to Los Angeles 102-90, albeit in significantly less spectacular fashion than their previous three.
Without Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Anfernee Simons or Nassir Little - the shorthanded Blazers relied on Norman Powell (29 points) and Jusuf Nurkic (31 points) to carry the offensive load. While they came up short, the product on the floor was so much better than it has been for the past few weeks, that it’s hard to fathom a game where they never really pushed ahead or in front of their opponent being such a massive improvement.
The vibes, while not an official scale, were definitively better with McCollum off the floor - and it appears the message of heart, hustle and give-a-damn at least resonated enough to manifest is cursory level commitments. Unfortunately, the system is still very broken but when things have been so awful recently, it’s nice to not ring the same bells following a loss.
Hop on the stream, get in the chat and get ready for a road rematch with Steph Curry and the Warriors Wednesday night.
