InterPod, The Global Voices of Pride Podcast06/16/22 • 14 min
The InterPride podcast series, InterPod, where the world comes together for the LGBTQIA+ community is proud to launch our 20th episode, Namibia: The Fight For Marriage Equality.
The LGBTQIA+ community has come a long way in the fight for acceptance. Our voices matter and will be heard. Many of our LGBTQIA+ community members have fought for decades for the right to be seen and heard.
In this episode, we speak with Daniel Dighashu (he/him) about the fight for marriage equality in Namibia. South African Daniel Digashu and his Namibian husband Johann Potgieter, who have a son Lucas, sued the Namibian government to have their South African marriage recognized by the state. The decision ruled against their family, stating that Namibia does not recognize same-sex marriage due to a previous Supreme Court ruling.
Listen in as we hear from Daniel Dighashu!
