InspectaCast: Insider Insights You Can't Get Anywhere Else
At InspectaCast, we aim to provide the insider details that formal classes can't offer. You need insights from someone who's been in the business, and Tom is the ultimate insider. With years of experience running his own business and contracting with companies to provide risk control services, he's got the knowledge you need.
"I want to help others achieve what I did—make a living while having the freedom to set my own schedule and provide the services I want. There's no playbook or easy-to-understand business plan for success in this hidden area of the insurance business. The companies you contract with can't provide training, and there are few formal programs to certify you for this work." - Tom
Tom LeGros has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. As a risk control consultant and independent adjuster, he's visited thousands of companies, from small single-owner businesses to multinational corporations.
Ten years ago, Tom joined a group of like-minded entrepreneurs to launch Preferred Reports. In just ten years, Preferred Reports has grown from five employees to over 100, becoming the largest insurance risk intelligence provider to the insurance industry in the country. They offer both physical and virtual inspections on commercial and residential risks across all lines of coverage, in all 50 states.
Tom holds a BS in History and an MS in Management from Excelsior College in Albany, NY. He also earned his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) credential from The Institutes and an Accredited Claims Adjuster designation from the University of Central Florida. Before entering the insurance sector, Tom served as a medic in public, private, and fire EMS, holding multiple certifications in emergency medical services, public safety, and investigations. He's also a graduate of the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD.

Do you know what your insureds are doing?
InspectaCast
07/21/20 • 28 min
Face it, companies will do whatever it takes to stay in business. But they could be doing things that were never intended to be covered under their regular insurance policy. A flower shop running a pop up drive in on weeknights for instance. This could expose them, and you to liability.
In this show we discuss seven different businesses and what they are or may be doing to keep the lights on. Some of it, while creative, is not something they normally do and may not be something they even know how to do. Should you be concerned? We say yes. Of course we would, we're in the risk business. But then again, so are you.
