I made a huge parenting mistake recently that sent me into a tailspin of guilt and regret. I felt like I had let my daughter down in a significant and irreversible way... but showing up from a place of regret and guilt over a mistake doesn’t have me showing up as my best self. I knew I deserved forgiveness, and my child deserved a mom who showed up from strength and love.
In today’s episode I walk you through what happened, and how I was able to overcome the shame spiral by choosing a better thought.
BUT, this episode isn’t just for parents. Its for anyone who has ever made a mistake, or done something they regret, or finds themselves arguing with reality and wishing they could change the past... because while I am talking specifically about how I let my daughter down, I’m also talking about how you can offer yourself forgiveness and love WHEN mistakes happen.
I’d love to hear something you’re going to work to forgive yourself for, so you can set yourself free.

I found the enneagram several years ago and was fascinated by how accurate, and informative, it was at explaining how I work, what I’m motivated by, and what can be my Achilles heel if I don’t watch it.
More than that, it helped me to better understand those around me. It helped me to not take things so personally when I saw clear as day how different we’re all wired and motivated.
On today’s episode, I talk to Enneagram expert Enneagram Ashton, who gives us a high level overview of the 9 types so you can see where you fit into it. There was so much we couldn’t cover in our short chat, but I hope it gives you enough of a taste to spark your interest to learn more!

You’ve done it so many times that you’ve started to believe that you’re actually not capable of following through a plan to take care of you.
You commit, you continue for a while, and then, maybe a week later, maybe a month, but always eventually, you quit. WHY?
In todays LIVE COACHING call, I explore the brain of my client around why she has been giving up, and offer some different thoughts to go to that will help her stay focused on what she wants in the long run, what truly matters.
I hope you can see yourself in her story. Because I know I’ve been in her shoes more times than I can count.
Lets all collectively decide that we deserve to show up for ourselves, and call out any thoughts that tell us otherwise.

39. Changing The Narrative
Insource
08/10/23 • 17 min
Everything and everyone is totally neutral. Things and people don’t become a positive or negative thing until we have a thought about it. And we are the only thinker of our thoughts...
Sometimes things happen or people act in a way that makes us feel frustrated, angry, resentful, judgmental, etc and we say “they need to change so that *I* can feel better.” But, THEY can’t make YOU feel anything. Its your own brain that does that.
In today’s episode, I share a listener question with you, and then dive into a different way to tell your story so that you can continue protecting your peace.
You deserve to feel love and compassion, and you are the only one that can give that to yourself.

38. Micro Vs. Macro Thinking
Insource
08/03/23 • 25 min
When was the last time you gut checked whether the decisions that you’re making everyday are in alignment with your values overall? So often we’re so zoomed in on that *one* meal, that *one* comment, that *one* bedtime routine, that *one* disagreement, that we forget it doesn’t really matter to us in the big picture, the macro values of our lives.
I hope todays episode offers you some perspective, and an opportunity for you to zoom out and reach for more peace.

The very first step in changing any thought is creating awareness around it. But, sometimes we have thoughts that feel so true, and so factual, that they don’t feel like thoughts at all. They don’t feel optional, they feel absolute.
In todays episode, I walk you into the first step of discovering what those thoughts are that you have about yourself, where you likely learned them, and how its possible to let those thoughts go and create a new story about you that feels better.
I can’t wait to hear what beliefs about yourself you unearth from today’s episode. And if you need help discovering them, or discovering new ways to think once you have created awareness around these core beliefs, you know where to find me!

So much of our suffering in life comes from people not behaving the way that we want them to. People do things and we get upset and blame them. But, you know by now that its never the thing that causes your pain, its your thoughts about them.
In todays episode we take some listener questions regarding expectations we have for others, and how we can manage them to give ourselves peace. We can’t control others, but, if we work really hard, we can control how we react to them.

35. Dieting vs. Following a Diet
Insource
07/13/23 • 36 min
I spent most of my life focusing solely on how I looked and what other people thought of me. I ate when and what the “experts” told me to, and it led me to being the most unhealthy version of myself possible.
Then I moved into rejecting the diet industry and embracing intuitive eating. For years I was motivated to heal my relationship with food and my body. After a couple years of doing this I was ready to learn how my body actually works and become an intentional eater- eating to feel good, which sometimes meant pizza and sometimes meant protein.
Today I am in the middle of a very strict Candida clean out protocol- and some of the rules are very similar to those I used to follow while in my serial dieting phase. But I feel WILDLY different.
In todays episode I share the various thought patterns I’ve let lead me, and in doing so, I hope that you can see where you are at in your journey, so you can decide where you WANT to be.
We have been focused on the facts or the actions for so long, but in this episode I break down why its the THOUGHTS that matter most (as they always do)!

62. It Doesn’t Fcking Matter
Insource
01/18/24 • 21 min
When you think about your life, what you want to be remembered for, what contributes to it being a good one, who you love, how you spend your time, what your legacy is... those are the things that truly matter to you.
But, what is it you’re thinking about? The catty co-worker? The number on the scale? How you said that dumb thing at the party two weeks ago? That the guy never called you back?
We spend so much time thinking about things that don’t matter, that we’re wasting our life away focused on the wrong things. At least that has been the case for me.
Yes, I have been in a tough season lately, but I am making it tougher because of the stories around what has gone on. I’ve been indulging in self loathing about things that don’t. fucking. matter.
So, tune in to todays show as I share how we can reconcile this and get back on track with our thinking, so that we can live a life we’re excited to wake up for.
Love you, mean it!
