InFrequency is a monthly collection of music podcasts including Temporary Fandoms, MSG10 (Movements, Scenes, and Genres) and sometimes others. Hosted by Ewan and Nick, and featuring an ever widening range of guests, from musicians, journalists, authors, to fanatical music fans. We aim to encourage the deep-dive rather than being gatekeepers. We have looked at bands like the Fall, LCD Soundsystem and more, as well as genres such as Riot Grrrl and New York No Wave. Head over to our home at infrequency.co.uk and stream some of the shows with music included. This is a TempFans production

SHHHHH!Leaving the Sugarcubes behind we start looking at the proper solo work of Icelandic legend, Björk. Ewan over-labours a Radiohead analogy, Liam cries under a table, Nick definitely didn't get drunk watching the football, and we are joined by friend of the Facebook Group and man who prepared by watching all of the Björk live DVDs in order...Jeffrey McDonald. Oh, and we are all slightly shocked by how long it took One Little Independent to change their name. There was a huge tech issue in post-production and if you barely notice it then Ewan deserves a medal. In this episode we discuss these records: Debut (1993) Post (1995) Telegram (1996) Homogenic (1997) Vespertine (2001) NOTE: This was originally intended to be released much earlier in the season so we may reference that, Yes we are still amateurs!! DOUBLE NOTE: As mentioned we had a bunch of mess-ups post production but I think I have fixed it, As usual there's a Spotify playlist incorporating the podcast and selected songs which you can find at https://sptfy.com/tfb2 (https://sptfy.com/tfb2) The Guests: Our guide for the records was Liam Moloney (@liamtmaloney), who has the rather excellent Dancing about Architecture pocast which you can find at https://beat.rehab/daacast ( https://beat.rehab/daacast) And he has a bandcamp full of Electronic magic over at https://liamthomasmaloney.bandcamp.com/ (https://liamthomasmaloney.bandcamp.com/) Jeffrey McDonald is a long-time contributor to our Facebook group and it was a pleasure to have him on If you fancy supporting the show, either leave us a review somewhere on Apple or Podchaser which would help enormously. Or just tell your friends!! There is a Patreon as well https://www.patreon.com/tempfans (https://www.patreon.com/tempfans) Jonathan is the genius behind our theme music and you can hear more of his stuff on his https://jonathanfisher.bandcamp.com/ (Bandcamp) Additional music in this episode by https://sessions.blue/licensing/ (Blue Dot Sessions ) All available under the following licenses: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)

"I'd pay money to hear her fart down a Walkie-Talkie"So we find ourselves in the latter half of the solo work of Icelandic legend Björk. First of all we had major tech-issues with this one. Hopefully it's not too distracting and we promise never to do it again. Nick brings back his trademarked "Party Björk to Arty Björk" phrase to a much better reception. Ewan had real issues with "one of the most important pieces of music of the century". Emily loves an album no-one else did and Liam veers between love, admiration and disappointment. And we all mispronounce something at least once. In this episode we discuss these records: (19:41) Roundtable Chat Medúlla (2004) Volta (2007) Biophillia (2011) Vulnicura (2015) Utopia (2017) NOTE: This was originally intended to be released much earlier in the season so we may reference that, Yes we are still amateurs!! THIS ALBUM IS A F**KING MASTERPIECE!!! Well one of us said it, and it's about one of the albums in this episode. Honestly, it's that good. In fact one of us went and paid real cash money to Bandcamp after listening to it a few times. REAL CASH MONEY!!! Nick and Ewan are again joined by singer and pod regular Zoë Von Hess and podcaster Nick Taylor (My Teenage Band) to scrutinise the latter half (thus far) of the work of Richard Dawson, and this time including his work with Hen Ogledd. In this episode we discuss these records: Peasant (2017) Mogic (2018) 2020 (2019) Free Humans (2020) NOTE: This was originally intended to be released later in the season so we may reference that, don't worry there are more episodes to come!!! As usual there's a Spotify playlist incorporating the podcast and selected songs which you can find at https://sptfy.com/tfrd2 (https://sptfy.com/tfrd2) You can buy all the albums and more direct from Bandcamp (and you really should) https://richardmichaeldawson.bandcamp.com/music (https://richardmichaeldawson.bandcamp.com/music) The Guests: Our guide for the records was Zoë Von Hess, who sings occasional vocals on the recent release by Blood, Wine or Honey, available here: https://bloodwineorhoney.com/ (https://bloodwineorhoney.com/) Nick Taylor last joined us for Mclusky and Future of the Left, but he can usually be heard hosting the excellent My Teenage Band podcast here: https://www.myteenageband.com/ (https://www.myteenageband.com/) If you fancy supporting the show, either leave us a review somewhere on Apple or Podchaser which would help enormously. We left our German pioneers at the peak of their creativity, surely it's all up from here... Continuing our look at German experimental rock/reggae/psych/afro beats band Can we wonder...will Ewan come round to everyone else's way of thinking? Will he still be annoyed? Will he just give up? Re-joining Nick and Ewan are bilingual stand up comedian Aaron Troy White and man who somehow shoehorns Richey Manic into the conversation Chris Whitby As usual, take your time. Can we follow the exceptional pair of Yo La Tengo episodes? Yes we Can! Nothing says future podcast success than a dive though the discography of a 1970s experimental German rock (ish) band. We have a look a one of the most influential bands ever to come out of Cologne (and maybe even Germany) though one of us isn't fully convinced. But it's the internet so we have three dudes telling another dude that he is wrong. Re-joining Nick and Ewan are bilingual stand up comedian Aaron Troy White and man with a beard that keeps scratching the microphone Chris Whitby As usual, take your time.
