Dawood Ibrahim was a son of an honest police constable with Mumbai police. He started into gang war as he was living in Dongri area of Mumbai. In Dongri, he got in touch with gang members of Haji Mastan and his gang war started. In 1980's, he was first arrested for a robbery case and later his crime records increased. Dawood became more powerful and dangerous due to fight between Haji gang and Pathan gang who were mostly migrants from Afghanistan.
Due to gang war, Pathan gang managed to kill one of Dawood's brother and it lead Dawood to take revenge and than Mumbai saw one of the deadliest gang war in city. Dawood managed to finish all members of the gang. After Haji Mastan moved to politics Dawood took over the gang and became bigger than Haji in underworld.
Dawood betting career

Dawood was mostly involved into drug trafficking an providing transportation for illegal activities. But Shetty and Chotta Shakeel were keen about cricket and Dawood made his presence at several cricket matches in Dubai and elsewhere. There many cricketers of Indian and West Indies were managed and betting was one on a very high level. This started after 1985 and there are visuals of Dawood present at several cricket matches. And till date cricket betting is one of the prime business of the D gang.
Bollywood connection
Dawood became so powerful that every film industry member was in touch with him. They were attending parties as well. As no one had guts to say no to Dawood at least till 1993 Mumbai bomb blast. He produced several Bollywood movies on name of others and profit share was given to Dawood. He was dating many Bollywood actress. I wont name an actress but she had a long affair with Dawood. I think leaving few all actors have made appearances in Dawood parties. Even today Shakeel is taking care of financing Bollywood movies. Everyone knows Bollywood movie Chori Chori Chupke Chupke was a film financed by the D gang.

Crime Branch CID of the Tamil Nadu police has cracked the sensational train heist case in which ₹5.75 crore cash assigned to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was looted from a moving train a couple of years ago.

The unprecedented robbery occurred on the Salem-Chennai Express on the night of August 8, 2016. A gang broke into the parcel van containing ₹342 crore of soiled but usable currency, and took away ₹5.75 crore.

The stolen money was in ₹500 and ₹1,000 denomination notes that were later demonetised. The gang cut through the roof of the train making an opening measuring 2 ft by 1.5 ft.

CID has arrested two men in connection with the crime. A hunt is on for others.
Investigation revealed that the men took away cash from the compartment and wrapped them in their lungis.

The two were identified as B Dinesh (38) and R Rohan Pardi (29) from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh. The gang leader Moharsingh is currently lodged in Guna Central prison in Madhya Pradesh in connection with other crimes.

The five-member gang travelled on the rooftop of the train and cut a hole in the roof of the cash compartment between Chinnasalem and Vriddhachalam railway stations.

According to a CB-CID press release, two men entered the compartment through the hole, broke open the wooden boxes and took the cash. They wrapped the money in lungis and passed it on to three other men on the rooftop.

The release said that while the train was reaching Vriddhachalam railway station, those on the rooftop handed over the cash bundles wrapped in lungis to other gang members who were waiting at the trackside and all of them fled the spot.

On August 8, 2016, a cash load of currency was transported from Indian Overseas Bank in Salem to Reserve Bank of India in Chennai. A railway parcel van VPH 08831 was attached to Salem - Chennai Egmore Express train. The train left Salem junction at 9.05 pm and arrived at Egmore at 3.55 am on August 9.

The parcel van was opened around 11 am by RBI officials and they found that Rs 5.78 crore had been stolen from the van after making a hole in the roof.

Government railway police, Egmore, registered a case on August 9, 2016 and the case was transferred to Crime Branch CID two days later.

CB CID officials said a special team was formed and it traveled throughout the country and collected information from informants who were set up at various places.
According to the tip-off, DSP Krishnan of CB CID and his team visited Ujjain and Guna districts in Madhya Pradesh.

They collected technical inputs, detailed analysis of various scattered pieces of information were put together and the suspects were tracked.

Dinesh and Rohan Pardi were arrested on their journey to Chennai on Friday. The criminals from Pardi group were involved in various cases across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The network of members stay on the roadsides or near railway tracks raising temporary shelters. They work as daily wage workers and street vendors and they spot the scene to commit crime, the release said.

Indian Crime Story - West Bengal’s 'haunted' Begunkodar railway station
play

08/04/20 • 9 min

Begunkodor is a hamlet in Purulia district of West Bengal which came into limelight for its shady railway station. There have been sightings of a woman draped in a white saree walking along the deserted railway tracks. Word has it that this woman was run over (or perhaps committed suicide) by a train. The sighting of her ghost has even lead to the death of railway personnel. The government has, however, dismissed these rumours as baseless. In 2009, after being abandoned for 42 years, this railway station once again resumed its services to the public.

The legend of Begunkodar has that in 1967, the stationmaster saw an apparition – a woman in white. She kept returning over several nights. He died of fright. The next stationmaster quit his job, and along with him the other staff. Since then no train had an official stoppage at the station, until the present decade, when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee rubbished claims of paranormal activity.

Colonel Barog, who was a British railway engineer, was the mastermind behind the construction of the namesake tunnel. By a quirk of fate, Barog had to face humiliation before his co-workers due to a misjudgement in his work. He was further penalised by the government by slapping a fine on him. As a result, he became so depressed with the turn of events that he shot himself dead during a walk. His body at that time was buried outside the tunnel, which is still incomplete

Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated at 9:29 a.m. on 31 October 1984 at her residence in Safdarjung Road, New Delhi. She was killed by her Sikh bodyguards Satwant Singh and Beant Singh in the aftermath of Operation Blue Star. Operation Bluestar was an Indian military massacre carried out between 1 and 8 June 1984, ordered by Indira Gandhi to remove the Sikh leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his armed followers from the buildings of the Harmandir Sahib complex in Amritsar, Punjab. The collateral damage included the death of many pilgrims, as well as damage to the Akal Takht. The military action on the sacred temple was criticized by the Sikhs around the world.

The last day of Indira Gandhi.

Indira Gandhi was administered 80 bottles of blood after she was shot by her bodyguards 34 years ago.

Iron Lady of India, Indira Gandhi died on October 31 in 1984. She was shot dead by two of her bodyguards. Her words spoken just the previous day at a public rally in Bhubaneswar had turned prophetic.

Indira Gandhi was reading out from a speech prepared by HY Sharada Prasad, her information adviser. Junking the written script for a few moments, Indira Gandhi spoke about the possibility of a violent end to her life.

She said, I am here today, I may not be here tomorrow. Nobody knows how many attempts have been made to shoot me I do not care whether I live or die. I have lived a long life and I am proud that I spend the whole of my life in the service of my people.

By night on October 30, Indira Gandhi was back in New Delhi. It had been a hectic day for her but somehow she could not sleep well that night. Sonia Gandhi has written in her book Rajiv -- that Indira Gandhi was awake till 4 the next morning when she got up looking for her medicine for asthma.

Indira Gandhi asked her daughter-in-law to call her if she needed any help. Gandhi said that she was awake.

Wanted in over 100 criminal cases in eight states and sentenced for an incredible 113 years by various courts, Natwarlal had made eight daring escapes from various jails and was the ultimate confidence trickster. He was last seen in 1979, when he audaciously escaped while being taken for a trial in Bombay and since then had been believed dead.

Natwarlal's modus operandi has hardly changed from his heyday. Only the yarn he spins has been updated. Three months ago, dressed in a spotless white shirt and trousers, he posed as D.N. Tiwari, personal assistant to the Union Finance Minister N.D.Tiwari and went to a watch dealer in New Delhi's busy Connaught Place. He told the proprietor, Surendra Sharma, that the Congress(I) Parliamentary Party was having an important meeting in which the members were to be presented watches.

The next day he came back in a chauffeur-driven car and told Sharma to pack 93 watches and send an employee with him to North Block, where he would issue a bank draft. At North Block, the old man strode in confidently, asking Sharma's employee to wait outside. He soon returned with an authentic looking draft for Rs 32,829 and took the watches. Two days later Sharma's bank reported that the draft was a forged one.

He used the trick with variations in different cities. To a watch dealer in Varanasi he presented himself as Ambika Pandey, purchase officer of the district judge, looking for watches to present to the employees. He made off with 80 watches worth Rs 25,000, again by presenting a forged draft. A Shajahanpur watch dealer was stung for 48 watches.

And in Kanpur, a watch dealer in the busy Sadar Bazar even bribed him with a VIP suitcase, while parting with 83 watches. But he tried the trick once too often. Last month when he approached a Gorakhpur watch dealer with the same story, the alert owner called the police, who arrested him.

The curious case of Twinkle Dagre’s disappearance. She was bold, fiercely ambitious and had set her sights on a political career. Until, one day in Indore, she disappeared. 22-year-old Twinkle Dagre’s story is now at the centre of a murky story about politics and exploitation. On October 16, 2016, 22-year-old Twinkle Dagre disappeared. A Congress worker in Indore, Twinkle had left home telling her mother she was going out to meet a friend. That was the last anyone in Indore’s Banganga colony heard of her. Two-and-a-half years later, with no trace of Twinkle yet, the city police claim to have cracked the case, arresting local BJP leader and former corporator Jagdish Karotiya (65), his three sons Ajay (36), Vijay (38), Vinay (31), and their associate Neelesh Kashyap (28) for allegedly murdering her. Dagre was allegedly in a relationship with Karotiya, which led to a family discord and the five men killing her, said Indore Deputy Inspector General Harinarayanchari Mishra, on January 13. Though police are yet to find Twinkle’s body, the arrests and the speculation around her fate are ringing in the political corridors of Madhya Pradesh, hinting at a murky combination of sex, politics, exploitation and a Bollywood-style murder plot. This is an Indian new podcaster who is exploring this new world of story telling. Particularly telling Dark stories, real stories of real life serial killer, trying to solve unsolved mystery of crime world in India.
