Episode 18 - Kendrick Johnson

In The Nick Of Crime

play

09/13/22 • 79 min

Hey creeps and freaks! This week, we are bringing you the incredibly sad and unfathomable story of Kendrick Johnson. Kendrick was a 17 year old high school student in Valdosta, Georgia, who mysteriously died in what authorities call a weird, tragic accident. But many think that this story is not what it seems, us included.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this case after you have listened and reviewed our source material.

Thank you as always for listening!

In The Nick Of Crime - Episode 21 - The Slender Man Attack
play

10/04/22 • 54 min

In this week's episode, Courtney discusses the 2014 attack of Payton Leutner, also known as the Slender Man attack. Spoiler alert - this one is a survivor story! And Payton's story is truly remarkable. Please note that this episode discusses mental illness and violence against children.

We also wanted to add that this week's episode doesn't contain a current true crime event (weekly f***ery). We had discussed one when we recorded the episode, but after we finished recording, family members of the victim we discussed expressed their desire for privacy and for the case to stop being covered while they process (understandably so). With that in mind, we decided to cut the segment from the episode. We understand that by covering current events, things like this can come up, but we never want to go against the wishes of those impacted the most.

Thank you as always for listening!

In The Nick Of Crime - Scoops and Lore 9 - Spooktastic
play

10/27/22 • 60 min

Happy Thursday, creeps and freaks! We apologize for this episode going out a bit late. We had some technical difficulties - there is one portion of the episode that we had to re-record, so the audio is off. But it's only for a short bit of time. But this week, we're bringing you a spooky smorgasbord if you will. Courtney takes us through the tale of the "Cora tree" of North Carolina and Michelle talks about the lore of "lost episodes". Plus, we have another listener story submitted by our lovely friend Katie with Malice and Mocktails! This episode has a bit of everything, and we hope you enjoy!

Thank you as always for listening!

In the second week of our Halloween horror series, Courtney covers the case of the 2010 Liske/Griffin family murders. On Halloween of 2010, BJ Liske did the unthinkable, creating a scene that would be described as a real-life horror story.

In The Nick Of Crime - Episode 25 - Halloween Injustices
play

11/01/22 • 74 min

Hey creeps and freaks. We have a pretty tough episode all around this week. Courtney discusses the senseless murders of Sister Tadea Benz and Narne Box Bryson, as well as the subsequent execution of Johnny Frank Garrett. We have many opinions on what happened (which is very evident in the episode), and we hope you will weigh in on yours. Please be advised that this case discusses rape and violence against children. There is also an abundance of spicy language. We were very emotionally charged this episode!

Thank you as always for listening!
