Parents long to provide a loving and peaceful home for their children. Unfortunately, the stresses of modern-day life and unresolved issues from their past prevent them from being the calm parent they wish to be. We help parents lower stress by giving them the tools they need to release old baggage, increase confidence, and interact with their children in positive ways. Kayla-Leah Rich
Kayla-Leah Rich is a speaker, coach and author. Today she talks about her role as a Days for Girls Regional Director and member of the Development Team. She shares her experiences traveling around the world with Days for Girls. She witnessed a lifestyle very different from what we are accustomed to in the United States and she saw a critical need that moved her to get involved.
Here in the United States we take feminine hygiene supplies for granted, but in other countries it makes the difference between being able to stay in school or not. There are many taboos around female biology that result in deprivation and hardship for women. She talks about those and how education is breaking down barriers.
She presented a Ted Talk titled "The Cost of Menstral Shame." Watch it here.
She met our mutual friend, Lydiah Kerubo Kenyanya, in Kenya. Lydiah is a school teacher who remained in the community after the pandemic closed her school. Use this link to donate to Days for Girls to support Lydiah, her students and the community of Kisii.
Kayla is an amazing woman with many achievements. Learn more about her on her Facebook page.
